Opinion - Short summary of what is wrong in most supports

Bard W not very impactful mid/late. Wish it worked like teemo shrooms. Mana cost are too high early because he gets free mana from shrines. Why make a system if you gonna circumvent it?

Braum Boring champ. Punishes enemy aggression and doesn't reward braum aggression. Designed around and justified by a stupid defensive-power fantasy. (Don't understand how some people have fun waiting for the enemy to do something.)

Janna same as braum

lulu More or less perfect. What janna should have been.

nami too high mana cost. compare to karma.

rakan Boring in lane. His heal is more or less designed to have him survive in lane. Not fun to play against (I gotta hit all my spells to do any meaningful damage while he just gotta hit the heal and cancel it). Very fun after.

sona Too hard to play to her strengths (i.e. the double slow). Generally, comes down to button mashing. Not really fun. maybe should not have been designed around a system-fantasy (i hate jrpgs).

Soraka same as janna. Much funner to play as, with and possible against when tank-raka.

tahm kench same as janna. terrible offense and cc certainly doesn't justify being melee and super kitable. Liked him better when he could, if played well, 1v1 anyone or at least stall by eating them but still could be kited in teamfight, if played carelessly. When, you had to a choice to play like a coward and just eat-save your teammates or a man and 1v1 the top as support. Yeah, before the nerfs.

taric more or less perfect.

thresh same issue as bard. Why have a special passive if you gonna completely circumvent it. ruined by morg. also, if peop don't have to remember objective timers, why should thresh be required to need to last hit minions for relic. Make him an exception.

zilean more or less perfect. probably a little too abusive in some comps (ms buff a hecarim) and a little too weak in others.

morg(my favorite champ) black shield is too good. should be much longer cd. at least long enough for leona to realistically get two good e's off. or have terrible base values. Leona's e should break it. (I actually level q first and still feel like i can generally completely ignore most enemy supports). also, the passive nerf was dumb. one of things that made morg unique was mediocre but noticable sustain, like her mediocre but noticable w damage, but w/e. rito always trying to fix something that isnt broken.

leona should scale better. at least cc wise. ruined by morg.

zyra more or less perfect

karma more or less perfect

alistar same as zilean. more or less perfect. probably a little too abusive in some comps and a little too weak in others.

blitz more or less perfect

special mentions

brand slightly less damage early and more hp or armor or something. He is made of paper.

annie not a very fitting support. Same as rakan. Not fun in lane or pre-6. Very fun after.

poppy Similar to tahm. was fine before the nerfs. now, not really rewarded or promoted to play aggro.

naut more or less perfect

galio more or less perfect.

ekko more or less perfect. Yeah. this is a thing. Plays like how pre-nerf poppy and pre-nerf tahm did. Try it.

lux more or less perfect

kayle not very fun to play. But, more or less perfect, considering shes weak early but scales super hard. (The idea of scaling is dumb. Just make everybody good all the time and stop catering to dumb late-game power fantasies. They can still get stronger over time and with levels but don't need to be terrible early and too good late.).

mf/ashe/fiddles/jarvan/lee/etc. no

Braum is rewarded for offensive plays, it’s his 4 hit passive.

As for people finding defensive plays fun, there’s a certain joy in using E to block what would have killed an ally.

Tahm is fine when you play aggressively and Poppy wasn’t meant to be a Support.
