Idea to change Soraka's W to a channel ability
Think of it like the mistweaver from WoW using Soothing Mist

Soraka is possibly the game's only "true" healer, but in reality she doesn't heal people traditionally by slowly getting their health pools up, but rather functions as another anti-assassin support like
. There are a few factors to why Soraka is unfair to play against, and can't be allowed to be good.
- Pressing W on somebody grants them a full heal
- There's no way to prevent a Soraka from pumping out heals, besides one shutting her or CC locking her
- If her heals become strong enough in the meta, she's just picked over peel supports with the same purpose
That's why I propose changing Soraka's W heal to a channel effect, this way you can add power onto her without her being overbearing. There's a clear way for it to be interrupted, and it fits the traditional healer much better. Healers should slowly heal up their teams if they get extended time to do so, while shields are your supposed anti-burst defense.
Don't mind the numbers looking weird btw, I just crunched them to match Soraka's current HPS output into a channeling spell in terms of healing, health cost and mana cost.
W - Astral Infusion | Range: 700 | Cost: 6,25 / 8,46 / 12 / 18,57 / 35 mana | Cooldown: 0,5 seconds
Soraka channels astral energy through her body to targeted ally champion, sacrificing 0,625% / 0,765% / 1% / 1,425% / 2,5% max health and restoring 4 / 16,92 / 28 / 48,57 / 100 + 0,15% AP every half second. During this time Soraka must channel the spell and can move around freely while being able to cast other spells. An 800 unit tether forms between Soraka and the targeted ally champion. The healing is stopped if the tether breaks.
From here you can always experiment with other stuff like increased healing or heals going out faster throug CDR to match her current HPS.
