How do you get an S on support?

So, I do really well with sona (I place wards, really good kda, etc.) but I get an S- instead of an S D:. I saw in a post that pink wards help a LOT to getting an S in support? Is that true or bs? cause I placed 0 pink wards in that game...

Go 9/4/22 Karma and get an S+

Basically get assists and don't die

Also new support isnt about dropping the dmgs its more taking dmgs for other so take a high CC champ that can go tank after (I usually rush stone upgrade)

Shit forgot to put words, I played an aram game and went 10/2/41 and had the most gold. I guess if I was a regular game and I had wards it would have been an S or S+.

Easy solution.

  1. Queue up for bot/jungle

  2. Trade roles with the people stuck in support due to autofill but want your role.

  3. Play "Sona jungle" but in reality play Sona support and do well.

  4. ???

  5. Profit.

GOOD IDEA!!! I never thought of that xD!

Doesn't work that way, game will rate you position in game, not on champ select.

Though a good Sona jungle game is an easy way to a quick S. I did that with Soraka and I have seen Sona do it.

If you want to get an S+ every game there is one sure fire way to do this Become Hokage

its related to the average sona kda cs and gold across the server.

I've achieved various Ss (S+, S and S-) on Sona this season. So, take this advice as you see fit...

General advice: Limit your dying (usually 2 or less). Get lots of kills and/or assists. Ward alot (generally) and ward sweep (if on the Rift). Make sure that relative to your team you are in the top 3 players. As for the types of wards, pink wards do count more - but barely.

Special note: Some supports can be played aggressively in some situations - Alistair, Karma and Zyra for example -- even Sona. So, don't be surprised if a decent kda is not enough if your kills are low.

high kill participation.

Most of the time at least 60%+ will net you an S

Warding is really important as a support along with clearing wards.

If you have a good KDA with a few kills as Sona and you place about 40 wards in a 30 minute game maybe 50 you should get an S+.

I had no issue getting the mastery 7 with her, even prior the changes Riot made for it to be easier to get an S's as a support.
