Irelia rework could throw old players a bone

Title. Her new kit seems to court players who were around when the game was... not what it is now. I think this should be encouraged because while I'd like the game to be strategic again instead of a damage-creeped cheesefest, a few champions that play like old league might be all we get. Even if Irelia becomes a manic mess because Riot decides they don't want people feeding as her, hopefully they'll keep making champions that feel like the game used to (while also not being trollpicks because by necessity they'd lack a major characteristic of current league: instant unconditional burst-per-second).

You are telling me that 100% damage reduction and ridiculous burst is not cheesy?

What exactly in her new kit is "like the good old days"?

She is like the opposite of what old league was.

I'm curious, what do you see in her new kit that reminds you of old league?Because I remember in season 3 the game was much slower paced, and the most mobile champions in the game were Kat and Fizz (and Fizz's mobility is actually sad compared to most champions that get released with a focus on mobility now).

The league I remember was all about the teamfight. It was fun as hell, and most of the champions you saw reflected that teamfight meta. Teams WANTED to fight. And the same was true of the pro scene. Rumble was a god, Jarvan was everywhere. You even saw Xin Zhao. Ashe was engaging fights with her ult. Faker's RIVEN.

That's the league I remember. This new Irelia...I don't really see that in her
