How to play against Master Yi?

So, I recently played Ashe in a normals game for the first time. I did ok, but enemy Yi got really fed and wrecked us. I want to know, how do I counterplay (not counterpick) Yi?

CC. chain CC specifically. Annie Ashe Braum Chogath Ekko Hecarim Jinx Kennen Riven Nautilus Leona LeeSin are all good picks against yi.

Ok, is Thresh supposed to do well against him? Cuz my friend i was with picked thresh but we still lost

CC works against litterally EVERY champion, are there no weaknesses specific to him??

CC works against every champion, but it doesn't affect them equally.

Most tanks and fighters (especially Mundo, Olaf and Irelia) don't really care if you CC them since they are durable enough to survive and can opt into tenacity.

Squishier champions (i.e. ADCs, mages, assassins) are not as durable and will often die extremely quickly when locked down for a couple seconds.

This is especially important for champions who rely on channeled abilities for damage or survivability (i.e. Katarina's R, Master Yi's W, Galio's R, Fiddlestick's W) since they can be interrupted and cancelled.

If you want another weakness, then Master Yi has weak early ganks and wants to farm during the early game. Many junglers are capable of exerting more map pressure than Master Yi in the early game and can take the opportunity to get their teams ahead and control objectives with that pressure.

Ok, but during early game at level five he got a double. What do I do then, when he's so fed that he can just run in during early game to kill me?

You play safe, don't overextend without wards and stand next to someone with reliable hard CC (i.e. your support) who can lock him down when he engages on you.

After the support has CCed him, use your ultimate for follow-up to keep him CCed long enough for you to either kill him or escape.

there is no counterplay vs YI, especially fed one. The best you can do are general things like CC, stay grouped, get GA and so on

Basically you have to hard cc (stun, silence, polymorph etc.) him when he's in his ult or counter jungle him hard early and shut him down before he scales up. As Ashe, if he ults, you can ult him to stun him and then you can focus him down.

Hard CC tends to melt a Yi, but depending on how fed he is, you'll need to kill him faster and faster before eventually you just can't kill him outside of a stun. A Yi with item 3153 item 3072 item 3812 item 3074 item 3006 and item 1419 will just rofl stomp your team because 1 auto will be giving him back like 300 HP. Also bursty champions who can either deal their burst from a good range or get on top of him and 100-0 him in 2 abilities really helps. You basically just have to not give him a chance to heal anything back.

WEll, description of my last game aganist Yi is this:

Me (Viktor) and adc (Xayah) kept nearby Alistair and Lee. Yi just ignored frontline Garen skipped Ali and Lee and ONE SHOT me and adc. Then it was easy. This scenario repeated several times, no mater of positioning. He just used Q to get pass tanks and hard CC and one shot only dmg in team.

Any advices?

if u use zhonya or xayah use R yi could not get reset , had no other gap closer to go on another target and get fuced in middle of team fight ,

As Ashe , you can't really. Assuming you're against a half a million point yi main, no one on that list mentioned below can stop him. Yi has always been a better duelist than Fiora ever was. Vayne is his only true counter, even then, the matchup can go either way if MasterYi has a pink. I suppose you could build an entire comp against him, Rammus, Leona, Amumu, and Alistar and then something like jinx or cait for mass multi target damage. Still though, if the adc dies, then you will probably lose the fight as he will be your only damage dealer.

Ashe ult. if hes running at you, lob it.
when his ult is down, W and Q.

You should NEVER be alone with a fed yi in the game.

There is no right way, he's broken cancer. None of the things that supposedly work against him actually work. He got such an obscene amount of power loaded into such a no-skill-requirement kit that you can't actually win against him. My last match proves that. Outplay the enemy team on every conceivable level for the entire match, lose because Yi right-clicked, got a quad, solo'd baron, and took your entire base by himself. You can't fight him because he wins, you can't split because he's better at it than anyone else, you can't challenge objectives, and no chain-cc doesn't work because he can just jump your cc with his Q. He's unbeatable.
