My main concern with the plants so far...

It's a completely luck based variable. These plants aren't able to properly be factored into an engage, especially with their random time spawning and placements.

In a game like League of Legends where your skill and understanding of the game determines your win, I don't entirely think it's going to be fair or fun at all if a player can now completely turn an engage around based on the luck of them getting a plant they want.

Outside of the plants the game will be perfectly fine, but when the plants factor in and we get interacts like the videos show: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mYsw0qINN2c

Is it really okay for a player to put in their everything to win an engage only for all their efforts completely gone to vain based on a luck factor? There is no skill involved with the plants at all other then who can use it first.

It's a completely luck based variable.

If specific plants spawn in specific locations and you will know what plants are where by scouting or on minimap - effect of randomness isn't that big. Also they will mean nothing (luck actually) in low elo. In high elo they will be strategic points.

Yeah, I'm just gonna move over to playing Breakaway once this goes live. You're completely right with this post. Not competing on this game for RNG to blow some luck one way.

You forgot the Vision Plant that will negate all we have to determine good junglers from bad ones -> ability to ward objectives

I saw Meddler comment on another post about this. It is not supposed to be nearly as random or luck-based as people fear.

It does seem like an unusual addition at this point, but I will trust Riot to play with it until it makes sense.

Last year they added the Elemental Dragons, and that has become a core element (no pun intended) of the game now.

Give them some time to try this out.

Meddler also stated that they are prepared to remove them if the simply do not work out as intended, but I imagine that would only come from a few attempts.

Every video they've shown can be used as a counter for why they shouldn't be in the game. It's hilarious how these things are being defended when the people crying that we're not giving Riot a chance don't seem to understand how fragile the jungle is, and probably weren't here when Riot wanted to fuck with the jungle the first time. Nothing good can come out of this - don't fix what isn't broken.
