Here we are again. This shit is going to keep coming up because Morgana is not allowed to be a decent champion by Riot games. You can leave broken shit like Vayne in the game for half a season, but Morgana is strong for a little over a month and you have to shut that shit down immediately.

I could go into a billion reasons why the balance team doesn't have a clue what they're doing, but there's no point. Every single person who plays this game knows they're incompetent and it's beating a dead horse.

Anyway, here I am with some common sense for you. If Morgana has had +/- 50% win rate for almost 10 years how about we just revert her rework minus the visual upgrades? She didn't need buffs to begin with but you guys just can't stop touching and breaking things.

Truthfully these buffs to her weren't worth much:

  • The movement speed buff to her makes her ult almost usable. You know, minus the fact she dies instantly without hour glass and you can still easily get out of it as any champion with flash or a dash. It's pretty cool at level 16 I guess, but most games are decided well before that point.

  • The W buff lets her kill steal people easier and then lose the game because she took gold away from actual carries. Oh, and she can almost push a creep wave as fast as other mages. Almost. Her wave clear is only worse than Talon, Ekko, Karthus, Lux, Xerath, Velkoz, Malzahar, Twisted Fate, Anivia, and any champion with tiamat. Almost as good.

  • Despite these buffs she still has very little agency. She isn't a 1v9 champion. She's not going to pull your team back from the brink. She's a winning-catalyst. If you're ahead she's good at keeping you ahead. If you're behind you just lose. It's hard for me seriously consider her overpowered when compared to the agency of other champions. Have you guys seen Riven?

Before her rework I had a 60% win rate. After her rework I had a 60% win rate as her. I've played about 300 games as her this season. If these buffs were truly substantial shouldn't I see a win rate increase? The only thing I really notice about this update is that she is banned all the fucking time now because you put her in the spotlight with the rework.

I'm beginning to digress here. Just revert the buffs that she didn't need in the first place so we can move onto more important matters like nerfing vayne and riven. By the way, I notice they're not mentioned. Sad.

What bugs me is Morg is a mid laner by design. Not a support. Let her go back to mid lane and take her out of support. While we're at it take Lux, Brand, and Velkoz back to mid as well. Also fuck Xerath support.

they are nerfing every support to the ground if you havent noticed Rakan TahmKench are getting nerfed more when we don't need it no one can play them anyways now morg is getting nerfed more so [sg-ahri-1] [sg-lulu] [sg-lux-2]

The nerf she should get is to decrease the shield duration to 3 seconds or 2.5 That ability is so brain dead

traditional supports are receiving more nerfs but other supports like Brand Lux Sona are fine to be able to one shot the enemy adc at lvl 3.

Because after the MS boost being added to her ult, Morgana now offers literally zero counter play at mid lane unless her opponent has strong non-movement speed mobility, especially with the Glacial Augment build.

  1. Slow them with Hextech active.
  2. Drop W directly on top of them.
  3. Walk towards them and ult.
  4. Intercept whatever disengage or CC they have with E.
  5. Get into melee range and hit a point blank bind; between Glacial Augment and your ult, they're at minimum movement speed and basically cannot move, and they're still in your W.
  6. Drop another W on top of them.

Between Hextech slow, ult slow, bind, and ult stun, they have to eat the full duration W and then some. You can't kill her before she kills you, because she's healing ~1/3 of her health bar from her passive and also absorbing part of your damage with E.

At this point, they're dead. Without including W's insane bonus damage, at level 9 with only Hextech + Doran's, this does about 1350 damage, reduced to ~1000 after magic resist. Most mid laners only have around 1100-1200 health.

If you estimate her W averages 80% bonus damage over its duration, the full damage of the combo exceeds 2000, almost double the opponent's health before MR. At level 9.

They're likely going to just keep nerfing her damage.

So why aren't stats important when talking about Morgana? It's only okay to bring up stats when talking about Vayne/Riven, but when Morgana is broken we just ignore stats and say she "deserves her time in the limelight" (completely ignoring that she's been a okay-above average support for over an year now).

54% win rate, 2.7% pick rate, and has literally 0 counter matchups (her worst matchup is Lux with a 49.3% w/r). Not to mention her winrate actually gets BETTER as you get higher rank - which is more proof that she's overtuned.

Don't fool yourself if you can convince the bronzes on boards that Morgana mid isn't overtuned. They probably haven't ever even seen a decent morgana mid in their lives.

Why is your "personal" win rate important. The rework literally buffed an okay champion. It gave her move speed on her ulti which she NEVER had before (straight up buff). And it gave her overall more damage on her W. No shit she's going to be banned all the time. She was annoying to play against even before the rework and got banned a lot. She will ofc get banned a ton when shes actually overtuned.
