Thornmail
has always been an item that is great to use against AD Carries, both melee and ranged. Before it used to rebound damage based on how much the opponent was dishing out, making these champions either build lifesteal or not litter the tank with auto attacks. The counter-play to
was either the APC or
. Now i'm all for changes that take away forcing X champion to build X, but the
we have right now, is targetting a lot more than just ADC's. Now whenever you basic attack someone with thornmail, you get Grievous wounds, which is 40% less healing PLUS the rebounded damage. So now instead of effecting the AD carries,
now effects

and others. Most of these champions rely on some form of healing to lane properly, but if you're any of these champions:

who benefit from not only the 80 armor, heal reduction, attack speed reduction, AND 250hp, while primarly relying on shields or sheer tankiness, you at the very least if not win the lane, you'll be unkillable solo if you rush this item, which i see a large amount of them doing when against heal reliant laners. So why is it that
, instead of being an anti-adc item, it's now just an anti-any-champion-with-a-decent-amount-of-reliability-on-healing item, because while yes it still effects ADC's, it now promotes NOT building lifesteal, and just going full crit, because the rebound damage is basically non-existant now anyway, and if it were to do anything, it would just be brushed off by
