Here me out. I know a lot of mid/top laners have been picking up exhaust more then usual lately, and that it does have its strengths, but exhaust has been untouched since the beginning of time, and it has always been perfectly balanced. There are some champions who rely on this spell to keep from getting 1 shot under riot's lego turrets at lvl 5 by lethality riven, not to mention COMPLETELY REMOVES EXHAUST and has 210 second cooldown, along with being useful in other situations as well. if 17/3/10 irelia didn't finish your team off because of exhaust then she has 210 seconds to wreck face in every other team fight.

tl;dr

exhaust is perfectly fine where it stands
it can be countered
reliable way to keep lane bully champs from destroying you with no counterplay

And for f*ck sakes if you do nerf it which you probably will just raise the cooldown a little bit instead of adding some "scales with level" bullshit or removing a debuff its actually useful for

Being untouched doesn't necessarily mean it's balanced. A lot of champions who were mediocre at best became top-tier after the meta shifted to favour them.

summoner 3 is FINE...

the REASON it seems strong right now is because of the ABSURD amount of damage creep. THAT is the issue. NOT summoner 3

People are only complaining because they're all relying on excessive damage instead of skill, to kill. Once damage across the board is nerfed back down to reasonable levels, exhaust will disappear from popularity because it won't be needed. That's all there is to it.

Assassin like champions can be frustrating to play against, but being unable to play assassins because this one summoner spell that is in every game because the support always takes it is even more frustrating.

The fact of the matter is, there are champions that are designed to use all of their abilities at once or in a very short period of time to be effective and for these champions to be totally and consistently denied their reward even when they play well is not healthy I feel. It's frustrating that on top of janna shield, ulti knock back and healing, Q cc, flash and heal I also need to try to successfully kill someone with a 40% damage reduction.

I think it's a bit much and it makes assassins pretty helpless if the support has half a brain.

Riven won't have that a substantial amount of lethality at level 5-6 so adding the lethality part seems kind of- for lack of a better word, stupid

I use a fair amount of exhaust, and it is disgustingly powerful. But the reason I do not pick it every game is because I feel almost like I am cheating when I use it. Countless fights have I won because I exhausted the enemy, drastically reducing their damage and attack speed and resistances, meaning I will win the trade (unless they also picked exhaust). So they have no choice but to retreat, or else they will get beat. But they cannot run away, because I slowed them with exhaust! It's pretty oppressive. It makes your enemy lose a fight, and makes them unable to run from a fight. Pretty much a death sentence.

Mid laners should be running barrier or heal if they want to not die. Exhaust is way to powerful currently
