Matchmaking should be based on MMR and Tier/Division
I'm sure many people would appreciate seeing teammates in similar divisions as themselves.

Tier and divisions are assigned instantly. They represent nothing when inaccurate.
There's 0 gains to this besides player perception and it comes at the cost of accuracy.
I don't get why they can't simply make MMR= Rank and then be like
800-1000= Iron I II III IV 1000-1200= Bronze I II III IV 1200-1400= Silver I II III IV 1400-1600= Gold I II III IV 1600-1800= Platinum I II III IV 1800-Infinity= Diamond I II III IV Master,grandmaster and challenger are the top 300,1000,2000(idk the exact numbers, point is the amount of players in these tiers are the same as now) players in the server based on their MMR, and list could be updated every 2 days or every week. It would also stop those people that hit those ranks early in the season and only play games in order to not decay.
Then MMR gains/losses are based on your win % and the avg MMR of the players in the game.
Numbers are obviously indicative, riot can figure that out based on what makes sense.
The main point is that promotional games serve no purpose. Why should those games be more detrimental to one's climb than the rest of the games? In my eyes they only frustrate and bring no Feel-good factor. If you win, you just feel like you get what you deserve, if you lose, you feel cheated from what you deserve. What's the gain in keeping them?
