RIP Maokai

I usually don't have much to say when it comes to reworks or game mechanics changing, but this really just blows me away. The new Maokai Maokai rework from front to back is total garbage. His W is way too slow and easily countered, not to mention no longer has % health scaling. The ultimate just feels really, really bad. Its way too slow, it only roots instead of stuns and it is slower than molasses making it super easy for champions to avoid it.

A large part of what made Maokai good was his old ultimate. By replacing it with this new ultimate, I feel like Maokai is probably now the worst tank in the game. Please consider this and revert Maokai back to his old form. There are a lot more tanks out there that could use a rework. Maokai was not one of them.

its horrible. did you see how slow his W is now? any one with any kind of dash can get away from it. and his ult is laughable at best.

im truly sad... i was fearful of the rework... and i was proven right

oh pls dear god revert maokai to his original kit i would love to have +650 range on his w again and to only have flat damage instead of %hp on his skills, it allowed him to not only jungle but to build ap instead of just full tank. i hate the 4.11 rework on him and the new is like eve tier 3.0

What I want to know is, how is he going to be played as a tank if he doesn't have any damage mitigation? His ult is gone and his new passive is more sustain. So he is going to be the only mainly tank champ without damage mitigation(shield, damage reduction, bonus Defensive stats, etc)?

Honestly, it felt terrible the first game. Couldn't get use to anything to save my life. After a few more games (3 or so), I kinda got use to it. The only way to use the R efficiently is to flank and use it to zone. The W got me killed at least once when a Jax ward-hopped into tower range and stunned me the second I came out of the root. Other time, I followed a Rakan for the entirety of his ult because I couldn't catch him and I spent the entire fight watching Maokai follow him. Imo, I can deal with the ult change, I can deal with the E change, I can even deal with the blatant nerf to his passive. The W change is garbo though, I just want it to be a little bit faster. Just a bit please.
