Why is the community so hesitant of things that are not meta? *rant*

Theory crafting/testing is literally one of the things that has drawn me to this game for the past 4 years, Yet as soon as you get a build that strays from the cookie cutter meta build, everyone loses their shit. Its like people just build things that they have seen pros build with no actual thought process in why/how it works.

Yeah, I really wish this game was more about people finding things they like and then putting in the effort to try to master that, rather than the actual state which is most people trying to find the most broken thing that they can and abusing it until it gets nerfed/changed, then finding something else.

As far as I'm concerned, anyone can play anything they want in my games, even in ranked, so long as they have a reasonable expectation that it will work and are honestly trying their best to win with it.

We wouldn't even have a meta if new things were not tried. I remember ADC was always mid, random bot lane (usually tank and mage) and random top lane lol. With a roaming jung Ali.

If you remember back in the old school days of gaming, backseat gaming used to be the most annoying thing anyone could ever do, bt now on league its like people rely on it to "know" the best way to play it. But people dont stop to realize pro's dont follow the meta, they set the meta which probably explains why they are pros. yay rants

Off meta can be cool, but when you ADC and your support decides to be someone without CC, heals, or shields, then all they're doing is warding and poking. Not a fan of Ezreal supports.

Most likely because you have a weak/not terribly strong personality and your performance ingame isn't particularly convincing. Not really a good or bad thing but its simple self defense to question those who break the meta just to break the meta. If you've actually thought about it like you say most likely you will have a simple and convincing response.

Though yes there are those who simply go from 0-60 and flip the shit. Fuck them.
