Why does no one normally play Amumu support? He offers a root with q, high trading damage while building tank (on top of it being AoE), and a AoE stun. I mean I think MF, Ashe, or Draven would wreck face with Amumu support. He could also build tear and face little mana problems. Just wondering lol.
He's like Leona with less CC and less tankiness. There are just better options all around.
I don't know why everyone on these boards are so toxic, disliking everything they deem not-meta. I faced a couple Amumu supports in my day, and they were brutal as hell.
He's a reverse Blitzcrank. You might as well just play Blitz if you want a support that can be tanky and catch out the enemy from safe distance
I've gone amumu support a couple of times (few times in ranked). It can be rewarding and fun, but like mostly all champs, it depends on the situation (your team comp and enemy team comp).
bc he can only all in, he can't disengage until 6, and he has no poke.
Its because hes melee. He gets his shit kicked in by ranged supps
Amumu support is INSANELY easy to bully, since he lacks any way to do anything to the enemy laners without going all-in. I've done it for lulz. The idea was to start Doran's Shield, level tantrum first and take the defensive mastery for less damage on autos to make it so level 1 amumu took something goofy like 15 less damage from autos, then to go ham on the enemy...
It didn't work. His early game is too awful to go ham and he can't stop savvy enemies from steamrolling over him and his adc. If you somehow survived early without giving up TOO much of a lead it might work due to how good his teamfight ult is, but it still seems like there are better picks. Try it for fun though and see how it goes. I can't really give you crap, I've played support Sion quite a few times.

Hmmm thats very intresting. I would say hes slightly better than blitz though, just because he has a huge AoE lockdown to where blitz just offers some damage after his cc is up.
