Why is everyone complaining?

People are mad they versing people in way higher elo than theirs in flex que. I view it as a way to learn the game at a higher skill level and improve my mechanics/map awareness. Sure it sucks to get stomped but are they not aiming to climb to that elo eventually anyway? Its way better to verse a god and lose while learning, than to verse a pleb and stomp and learn nothing. I am actually thrilled when I verse people in plat and diamond being in silver because then I get to see what I do wrong and how to change that for my next game.

"Losing while learning" would be fine if low elo players were actually able to recognize where and why they made mistakes. If a mistake is not recognized as being a mistake, there will be no improvement. And since low elo players lack the game knowledge to identify what went wrong for them, they usually end up staying low elo whether they vs. high ranked players or not.

There's also the fact that high ranked players rarely, if ever offer advice to lower elo players while in-game. They usually just flame and shit-talk about how much better they are, if they speak at all. Because there's simply not enough time during the game to explain to a low elo player why a certain action is advisable. Do you really expect a diamond player to explain proper counter-jungling, lane matchups, how to farm well, when to trade, etc. all while a game is going on?

This in turn is also assuming the low elo player actually wants advice in the first place. Because many in low elo often misinterpret actual sound advice as flaming and criticism. Either that or they are simply unwilling to learn beyond what they already know, making advice pointless.

No but if a professional boxer punched me in the mouth every day I would learn how to avoid it. Its about learning what to do and when to do it, not pub stomping.

Um... I don't actually think you learn much from getting utterly curb stomped. It's not like if a professional boxer punched you in the mouth every day that would make you a good boxer. At best you can see who they pick and how they build, but it's not like the guy stomping you is gonna be giving your pointers. He's just gonna be carrying his friends and snowballing like a mofo. In fact, the strategy for hard-carrying a low elo game don't work as well in actual high elo matches where the enemies are on even footing, so you might not be able to use ANY of it.

So I'm sorry but your argument is heavily flawed. People don't learn to improve by having their balls kicked in. They learn to improve by steadily facing off against increasingly better opponents who push them a bit each time. All getting your balls kicked in does is give you sore balls and a lovely alto singing voice.

Personally I'm annoyed as one of the people who's constantly on the upper end of the team. I get to see people playing in a game they shouldn't be in and getting crushed every game. There's nothing for me to learn from this, I just get to see hilariously bad play from Bronzes and low Silvers every game.

However yes, flamming shouldnt exist in any elo. But that has nothing to do with mmr
