Bruiser/Tank Ashe

So basically I got the idea from looking at these three parts of her kit: Her Q is good at picking out targets, and if the slow is utilized by the entire team well, it contributes well to locking down and eventually eliminating targets. Her W is a large aoe slow on a 4 second cool down, and probably less considering tank itemization Her Ultimate is a stun and is already quite well known as a powerful initiation tool even for standard ADC Ashe

Obviously I'd have to avoid putting Ashe against anyone with heavy engage early game, but just as a for fun, non-serious idea, do you think Bruiser/Tank Ashe could work?

Bruiser/Tanks are essentially tanks that deal damage. The general trend is that there kits are jam-packed with damage, damage, and more damage - all of which is a complete pain to counterbuild, especially when true/%HP/armor/mr shred is thrown in there. Mundo's 200 AD steroid, Nasus's infinite scaling nuke, Darius's true damage nuke, tons of damage is mostly what makes bruisers operate as the tanky DPS class despite building mostly tank.

So - bruiser Ashe, no. Ashe has awful damage. All she comes with is CC.

If you just want to focus on the CC though - Ashe is near Tank/Support levels of CC. Most supports are better served counter-initiating fights and peeling for allies than they are initiating fights and locking down priority targets, but Ashe is fairly flexible in going in either direction with her CC.

So - sort of an issue of definitions, but if you're planning on tanky Ashe you should focus more in the tank/support vein than tank/damage, because when you skimp out on some crit/as/ad/armor pen in itemization - you're not going to deal meaningful damage on Ashe. That said, most Bruisers are melee - which means a simple slow can drop their damage to 0, where Ashe's range can let her avoid that.

It could work quite well, however she would suffer from the same problem all bruisers with low to no mobility have, she will get destroyed by CC. The only reason she works in the current meta is she is an ADC with very high damage, however bruisers do not have that as a tool. Even with your slow to stick to your target infinitely you have to out damage your enemy. Bruisers do that by being able to take more damage than their enemy, instead of trying to deal more.

If you truly want to try this I wish you the best of luck in finding low CC teams.

To be fair, she does have one tool most bruisers don't have, range. While it most certainly does not solve all of her problems, I do think it is at least noteworthy to say that 600 range is enough to circumvent at least some of them, and gives her one less reason to put her head so far into a fight that she will literally be chain CC'ed by all 5 members.

It is a fair tool, but she will not have the damage to convince enemies to keep their distance. Heavy kiting will be required and will likely not work at all depending on the matchup.

I guess.

Though, most of this appears to be written as though expecting duels. While this will definitely be a case, I was meaning to write this as though being an active team fighter as a secondary battle tank what with how I put emphasis on the whole team capitalizing on her slow and the aoe aspect of her W. How do you think she'd fair in this regard.

It sounds like a fun build, but bruisers are generally meant to be in the front lines. Being a ranged tank is weird since if you are in the back along with the other squishies, then the other team has one less person to go through the front line (if any) So you'd be the last to die.

I'm assuming you would send her top lane as a bruiser, which is a place well known for it's dueling. I could be wrong though, it is your idea after all.

i personaly like 40% cdr wolley spam ashe it does not fit the meta where both teams clash and one eventualy bursts the other, but if you will allow her to launch a couple of volleys befored this teamfight the enemy team woth have a word in fight

This is gonna be hard, because she doesn't fit into the meta and gets beaten by everyone in her role.
