Why does supports always have to be lower level then the rest of the team?

Is it a balance problem if they are the same level as rest of their teammates? I hate being 2 or 3 levels lower then rest of my teammates.

Here an idea to help with it: I was the thinking bring back the season 4 mastery Inspiration: Grants 10 / 20 experience for every 10 seconds while near an allied champion with a higher level

Make it as a unique passive in the gold income itemsitem 2303 item 2302 item 2301 item 3401 item 3069 item 3092
You can also make the experience that you get for ever 10 seconds scale with time. In the beginning of the game its 10 which then scales to 100 if the game gets to 50 min mark. Or just leave it at a fix number like 20.

This idea is way better then the ward exp thing. Honestly the ward exp made no difference.

Most common reason: They leave lane too often.

Now I do play Jungle/Support hybrid so I don't suffer from this too much but yeah, most leave lane to ward spots on opposite ends of where they need to be.

Examples:

  • Blue tribush when you are purple side and not downing the first tower.
  • Dragon, when you are level 4 and should really be telling your jungler its his job at that time.
  • Generally just not with the team, alone, not gaining xp.

Again I normally stick with my team unless im running around to push/steal an enemy camp. The main point is most over extend, and at the worst get caught out and die, on top of losing out on the xp from the lane.

Because they and the ADC are sharing the same exp income. Top and Mid start out higher level due to being solo lanes.

I doubt it would be a balance problem since the other team support would also benefit the same from having their level closer to the rest of their team.

It would actually promote vision, supporting your team and being where you are needed the most rather than having to work around the lower XP income to try to squeeze XP left and right. Right now, support can hardly do their actual job because they have to spend time squeezing XP. But then... the same can be said about every other roles. They need to spend time squeezing gold in from CS and jungle camps. Support doesn't have to care for gold much. So uh... I dunno.
