There's a difference between not being familiar with a champ and being bad. You aren't walking into 5v1 stuff if you aren't good with the champ, you are just bad. If you weren't used to the champ you might do something like wiff a skillshot's range, or go oom if you aren't used to a champs mana consumption.

You probably can, but in reality you can't hold everyone to your standard, especially since you're working with complete strangers. Always consider the worst case scenario and work from there. Go in assuming whoever said they can't play [fill in the blank] will go 0/5 if they're forced to play them.

My point is that you don't have to be some amazing master at the champ to get the general gist of a champ and how not to feed your buns off.
