[Item Suggestion - Breastplate of the Perfect Soldier]

Dear Riot,

lately you guys have been talking alot about "strategic diversity", where there should be several different ways to win. With the proposed changes for preseason, this seems to go against the diversity aspect with AD gaining a huge advantage across the board. In the past teams would have a blend of magic damage and physical damage to minimize the effect of tank, forcing them to balance their armor and magic resist.

With the changes to AD there may be a shift to pure AD teams and, further down the road, AP teams. The item I propose would be the proverbial "Great Equalizer", that gives tanks and item that allows them to have a counter to either a heavy AD or heavy AP team. After all, strategic diversity means many strategies to win not 1 enforced by over-tuned champions or items. Without further ado, here is the item:

**Breastplate of the Perfect Soldier **

+800 Health +50 Magic Resist (Requires Antimagic Ward) +50 Armor (Requires** Ironhide**)

Unique Passive: Warmog's Heart - restore 15% of max health every 5 seconds if you do not take damage for 8 seconds (requires 3000 health or more).

Unique Passive: Infinity Guard - Grants immunity to critical strikes and reduces the attack speed of an enemy who attacks you by 20% for 1 second (Ironhide) and grants +50 Armor OR Magic damage dealt that exceeds 10% of your current health is reduced by 60% (Antimagic Ward) and grants +50 Magic Resist. Only 1 passive may be active at a time.

Unique Active: Guardian's Resolve - Change Infinity Guard's effect from Ironhide to Antimagic Ward or vice versa. Ironhide is active on purchase (600 second cooldown)

Built from:

-Warmogs Armor (2750 gold) -Warden's Mail (1100 gold) -Negatron Cloak (800 gold)

Total Cost: 6000 gold (2750 + 1100 + 800 + 1350 buyout)

Comments: aside from the infinity guard passive, this is a semi normal item, that passive exists to discourage pure AD or AP teams and encourage strategic diversity; the very thing Riot has been talking about. The high buyout cost is so this is realiticly only buyable at midgame and can't just be bought to nullify a snowballer completely early on, it can only be bought after you have that gold wgich is almost twice the cost of item 3031 .

Edit: Than you WookieJesuz, now the armor and magic resist are tied to each passive Infinity guard respectively.

'Immunity from critical strikes...'

lolno. Even without that passive I would buy this item every game just for raw stats. It's a Warmog's with defensive stats. Just for a second, imagine GAREN with this item. Now with Infinity Guard, on top of being incredibly durable, you completely nullify ADC champions from ever being relevant, and simultaneously ruin Karthus and Anivia's bursts, as those are considered critical strikes as well. On another note, we are not putting an anti-mage poppy passive on an item that's already utterly absurd.

This is a ludicrously expensive item, but there is only one problem: It would be too slot effecient. While gold effeciency and the entirety of its components are already pretty good, The reason items aren't that expensive nowadays is because you only have 6 slots. A late game build with this item would make you invinviclbe, coupled with regular items is too strong. I explained that good right?

you did explain it well, however, the cost is = to 2 slots of gear, if you rush this item early, your core items would not have been built and if you don't its a hefty chunk of change to drop after your core is built. It is no doubt meant to be a late game item to contend with a heavy AD or AP focus. You are right that it is too slot effcient so I have 1 change I will make.

the immunity to critical strikes would not mean they tank is immune to damage. An ADC with 300 AD still does a lot of damage especially if they had the sense to get attack speed. Notice the _Unique active _cooldown: 600 second is 10 minutes so that means your team can adapt faster than the tank can switch between Ironhide (the anti AD guard) and Antimagic Ward (the anti AP guard). This item is also 6000 gold, that is not pennies. that is a ton of gold, something that wouldn't get bought easily.

And no infinity is not simulationeously, its a toggle effect where you can have either Ironhide or** Antimagic Ward**, not both.
