My Breakdown of AD Implications, and Proposals

#I intend this for open discussion, please give me your thoughts. I'm focusing on implications apart from balancing and damage numbers. Pure focus on AD.

#Currently, ADC's have the option of... #Reliable Damage: #Sustainability and Damage: #Unreliable Criticals

#Although, criticals aren't really unreliable anymore, since all of these options have 20-30%: #Which means Essence Reaver is a great buy for most ADC's. Allowing more safety and damage from near max CDR. #Which makes getting 100% not a pipe dream, since we can also get 15% lifesteal and an additional 20% attack speed through masteries. #Which all attack speed speed items have 30% critical strike aside from BORK. #Most ADC's can and will reach that 100% critical threshold in 3-4 items, leaving 2-3 items leftover for the sustainability. #Riot doesn't like RNG in their game, and their temporary solution with this Marksmen ADC rework to x2-x2.5 damage. #Which in itself isn't a bad hotfix to the critical system. #We aren't going to talk about Yasuo. #Currently a lot of ADC's have the option of dealing additional magic damage with attack speed. #Guinsoo's, Rapid Firecannon, and Statikk Shiv are feeling like magic workarounds for Thornmail, an item who's soul design is to be an ADC stopper.

#Champions who once relied on a good deal of their on-hits are also able to reach this threshold with ease. #Which detracts from what they were, on-hit champions. #On-hit has become all hybrid damage apart from BORK, which oddly wasn't touched at all with the preseason.

#We saw some love in the bilgewater update, with Typhoon Claws, and at first glance of RAPID Firecannon this item came to mind in functionality, though to no such avail. Typhoon Claws worked in tandem with: (And quite possibly new ) #Another amazing implementation that could have happened, would be to add in an advanced item that built into both Runaan's, and this item, similar to: for #Runaan's and Typhoon's feel should be one of an on-hit "hurricane/typhoon", and Rageblade should be that of raw AD, as if the damage is raw enough to explode in their face. As such Runaan's along with Typhoon should take their place back on the high attack speed pedestal without critical, because it feels like it is attempting to be a choice apart from Rapid and Shiv, though they all work well in tandem with one another. We should try and buff the unique passive instead. #This item should try to be thought of as a ranged only item, which interestingly none were made for the ADC rework.

#ARAM, 3v3, and Dominion alike have this nifty set of items: #All of which dealt AD bleed damage over 3 seconds equaling a % of your bonus AD, up until patch 5.11 where it was changed to magic damage. #Most people only recognize Lightbringer for it's revealing, and it has been proven that buying Lightbringer and Wicked Hatchet stacks the bleed. It is unknown whether Pillager and Wicked Hatchet stack bleeds. #Riot even made a badass song about this "unmentionable" item. -Side note Riot, all of these badassery of song's items haven't received much love in the preseason, aside from last whisper, and some have been removed. I request more from this band. ~Sincerely Metal Heads #Something that would be amazing to add to our @repetoire of marksmen items, would be to add Lightbringer, but to maintain reason it could "roll" your critical twice for a chance at additional bleed damage for a % of your bonus AD, and a lot of the critical belongs to attack speed items so this would balance out. RNG is bad, but this is still interesting. #Lightbringer is a bow, let's try and keep it that way through ranged-only, because we can't let these culprits have unreasonable power on top of their existing power.

#Another mechanic is something we saw with Puppeteer, and is something I'm loosely suggesting. Though this seems more like a design for a champion, there could be an AD item, or even a raw attack speed item, that allows you to slightly pull in a champion after a number of auto attacks. Name could be (Dude)'s Hookline, and it could be a fishing pole. (Angler ADC pls.)
