So what is this rage about Katarina being overpowered all of a sudden?

I just don't understand.

If you're going by her winrate, there exist 11 champions who winrates are higher in plat+.

If you're going by how she was supposed to be a "low elo stomper", she's actually not and is perfectly balanced at around a 50% winrate in Gold and lower.

If you're going by how frustrating she is to play against, I'd rather prefer playing against her any day instead of an Ahri, Yasuo, or Zed.

Whoever bought forth this concept of Kata being a low elo stomper clearly cannot tell the difference between the old Kata and her reworked version. She is not a low elo stomper and isn't supposed to be. The 50% winrate is a clear statistic which should make that clear.

Nothing about her kit has changed in the past year or so, and she's literally the same champ in a high burst meta. I do not understand the sudden rage behind the changes. Is it because Hashinshin pointed it out in a video? That guy is a moron who doesn't even play mid lane, and thinks every mage is OP merely due to the fact that they are mages. All of that while playing solo queue. Why are people taking his words seriously?

You saying Ahri is frustrating to play against? I rather play against Ahri over any assassin.

That really depends on who you're playing. I hate playing against Ahri due to how safe her kit is.

It's either miss a charm and farm safely under turret and try again later, or land a charm and take away 3/4th the lifebar on anyone. In fact that's the basic trend with mages but I wouldn't say she's overpowered. Just very annoying to play against.

It only 3/4th of your life bar as you said, and how long does it take to be able to do that? Unlike assassins that can pretty much kill you at level 2/3? Quite of bunch of them don't even have mana so they don't really need to conserve while they can farm and constantly poke you out.

Agreed with every word you said. Its not Katarina's fault some people didn't learn to play against her. If you are constantly getting killed by her, it means you're making mistakes and she capitalized on them, which is perfectly fine since she's doing her job basically.

If u had read the topic about kata like a "low elo stomper", u would have seen that the complaints are rather based on high elo statistics...

There's literally an entire front page post in the 'hot' section ranting about it.

Including a popular Katarina main who claims that Katarina is a natural win over Talon and Yasuo in a matchup.

Because in D+ (the only thing you should look at concerning Champion Balance) she has a 52.94% WR. That's place number 4 in rankings.

In Masters Aurelion Sol is #1 in terms of rankings, but the day we nerf him we'd hear a lot of people calling Riot braindead monkeys.

Of course his pick rate is far lower, but if the winrates are what you're going by then that's something to consider.

Again, in Grandmasters Katarina falls down to the 14th place, ironically while she's only 10th place in challenger. Why are we only looking at Diamond in this case?

kata does beat talon pretty easily. just saying. i mean i don't even do that barrier thing and get on by with a d-shield and some cloth armor, i think he's going overkill with the barrier but i guess the game changes a little the higher you go. will try teh barrier if i bother to play some kata again, currently enamored with qiqi and irelia keeps on giving on the fun factor, so yolo. allegedly shrekko can't even get a look in currently, gotdamn.

as for yasuo, it is a skill matchup at all elo's likely. if you're the better player you win, simple as, and you win hard. there are various solutions each champion has for the other so it's a fun matchup if you're the better of the two players, no doubt. i can't speak for the kata vs akali matchup cause i wouldn't opt into that matchup as kata, but the guy has forwarded actual mechanical solutions, i'm just not consistent enough with those solutions and he is, and the champion is somewhat unplayable if you play her enough to be consistent with her elegant mechanical solutions for all plays she can be presented with. does she have hard counters? yeah, but even morde has hard counters right now so what value is that argument?

i play both and talon beats kat ez. Unless u are bad then you shouldnt lose to kat as talon.
