Why is taric not played enough anymore?

This is truly outrageous, my bae is not being played enough and i cant understand why is he that weak that he is not played often ;-; Edit: well ok, so beyond the laning phase he is good. Thats great news lol i thought he wasn't picked because he was utter thrash or something. Also, then what do you recommend maxing first?i like to max q or e depending on the matchup and w last but for some reason most people max w second, i don't get why though :/. Also you guys are nice people <3

I actually think Taric is quite powerful once he gets locket and redemption because it makes it much easier for his carries to survive until his ult goes off.

Edit: also, Taric is kind of a situational pick. He's great into enemies that like to engage but can feel useless against ranged/poke comps.

Mana costs and hard lane against a lot of matchups, it's very easy to spend most of lane just standing there doing nothing. His E being his only skill shot probably makes him dull for a lot of people too.

It's not that he's weak, it's that his laning phase leaves much to be desired for in a meta where poke champs dominate.

he's weak early game but once late game comes i'd be surprised if you kill anything near him during a team fight

Late game he is a support raid boss like Sona. Both scale very well
