She's not really a bad champ. She's just severely limited by her immobility and cast animations, making it hard for her to perform her intended role. Whenever I play her I feel like using any skill except R or W in a team fight just fucks me over. Her Q animations just takes so long it feels like it hinders you rather than helping you in a 5v5 scenario. The reduction of the cast time on e was nice and it should be applied to Q as well.

So, yes, she's very powerful, but incredibly limited by being unable to catch up to anybody. Morde can at least grab a Rylai's, Darius has an actual pull and slows for days, Garen has FORWARD and Skarner is fast as fuck.

He just builds a first item cowl, then proceeds to farm while waiting for jungle ganks. Nasus slow combined with jungle gank is a flash or a kill. Rinse and repeat
Only Play Darius1 votesI have played against plenty of Vlads who will let me do that (mainly in Bronze). I have also played against Gold and Plat Vlads who actually know how to freeze the lane and zone Nasus with auto attacks, which kills my CS and also prevents ganks. Combine this with the near-perfect CS that they are getting as a ranged champion facing a non-threatening lane opponent, and they usually have more than enough AP to deal with me by the time I get Cowl (not to mention forcing Nasus to rush Cowl already sets him back as it provides no mana or CDR).
As far as laning is concerned, there is literally nothing Nasus can do against a well played Vladimir unless he gets camped hard (which you can never assume will happen), even SirHcez struggles heavily in that matchup. However, Nasus is slightly more useful in the ADC meta because of his wither.

Her Q has big delay, even if she hits you with W, it isn't that hard to avoid tentacles attack if you are constantly moving and her E is a skillshot (just stand behind minions!!!). If you know what you're doing, she can be the easiest match-up in existence.

Varnoc1 votesThe tentacle spawn is very controllable actually, it spawns on the closest wall, so you can walk up to where you want it to be as it comes off of cooldown, as long as it's not within the "no spawn" zone of another Tentacle, it'll spawn right there.

Illaoi makes up for her immobility with her healing, waveclear, and lane control. And unlike Galio, Illaoi doesn't have severe mana problems.

SpecterVonBaren1 votesNo, Illaoi's problem is that when you pick her you are explicitly saying, "I am here to just do damage" because that i all she does, her only source of utility is her E and her only means of getting to someone is her low range W. Add to this that she needs prep time to do monstrous damage so why would you ever pick her over someone like Darius who provides a slow and a pull on top of his damage and tankiness?

The Fast1 votesThe issue is that people want to chase people, and say illaoi is bad because she CANNOT chase people. The thing about illaoi is that you have to set up camp, and destroy someone in that camp, and if they leave, fuck em, not your problem. If you build her and play her that way, she becomes infinitely better as a champion. No deadmans, iceborne/trinity. etc.
