Does Ekko's R really need that heal?

Isn't ekko's ultimate basically the thing people don't like about Zed.

Why on earth does he need a colossal heal to go with that? Surely his ultimate getting him out of trouble is enough. Rubbish ekko's just ult, no matter where the clone is and win the fight anyway because they're on full health.

At least if Zed dives you, you can get some DOT or ignite on him and he might die from that. With Ekko, nope, he just healed all of it back.

Yes he needs the heal because going back in time will heal you back to where you were back in time. What he doesn't need is the huge damage that comes with it

I wanna see the ap ratio lowered :|

The heal makes sense thematically and in the game, the damage does not at all. And like others have said, its not even just a little punch, its a huge nuke.

Should he have the heal? Yes, makes thematic sense and is part of his safety/utility based design. Damage? HELL NO! He should not have veigar level burst in an AoE when his whole identity is utility assassin. Nerf the AP ratio to something like 70% and he'd be a whole lot better.

The ap ratio is so high and he can one shot a team because of the big hitbox. Its afree escape and a fucking heal -.- So overloadet kit

SexyTaylorSwift5/29/2015, 10:28:02 PM4 votes

Does Ekko really need any of the bullshit that is packed into his kit?

iainB855/29/2015, 8:31:29 PM4 votes

Zed can go back to wherever he positions his shadows, Ekko is a little less flexible.

It's probably the damage that is more of a problem than the heal. I'd imagine the AP ratio going down on that one.

He's not healing, he's just reversing the damage that was done by rewinding time. Misleading post is misleading.

Lyrxen5/29/2015, 3:24:01 PM3 votes

He's new, so obviously he is going to be a little OP, but I have a feeling that's going to change

Anonagon5/29/2015, 7:28:28 PM3 votes

Its the damage that's broken, the heal fits from a logic standpoint.

SpaghettiTime5/30/2015, 3:09:25 AM3 votes

It doesn't make thematic sense for it to be that much, in the video he was lookin' pretty out of shape.

Anyway, you should use his ult to go into danger, or else you're wasting all of that damage potential.

As well, such a heal promotes low health with armour/mr Ekko, because you gain a flat heal amount, so a high health build is less attractive to Ekko exclusively because of this heal.

Furthermore, you can just ignite him first, and then the heal is nothing.

Well you see, as of this patch, each ability on the champ MUST have atleast 2, even 3 effects. Like his W, its got a passive % on hit, an AOE stun better than Leonas ult, ANDDD a huge scaling shield.

Myrddin5/30/2015, 11:41:32 AM1 votes

he's rewinding time, it should heal him... why it does crazy explosion damage i have no idea

Kilane5/30/2015, 9:25:26 PM1 votes

It should, that's what he is about.

However, 0 mana cost and 1.3 AP ratio like Veigar's bas dmg ult and repositioning are...

yah.

Schoolgirl Urgot5/30/2015, 9:40:33 PM1 votes

Well he's a melee AP with 0 lifesteal itemization and spell vamp is garbage. What's worse; zed sustaining through the entire lane phase with just a vamp scepter or ekko getting ~300 health back from an ult?
