Winning ranked should be winnning 2 of 3 matches, rewards skill, punishes bad players

It would take a lot of time. But honestly, games should be best of 2 of 3 in ranked.

  1. this would deter people who aren't really serious about ranked and they can go play normal, because they might not want to be held to 2 or more matches in a row.

2)this would allow games a bad teammate can get voted off with 4 votes between matches, and be replaced by a new random player. The vote can only happen from losing the first match. Therefore, the new player still has to win 2 games in a row for a win, but its not a bad deal since most likely he is replacing the weak link in the team.

3)This will also put people in check as to not act the fool lest they be voted off the team and take a loss.

The basic concept is that overall, good players should win in the long run. So making it best of 3 matches rewards players who are more consistent...even if they have a bad first match, if they are truly better than the other team, they will often win the next 2 in a row.

I know this would be time consuming, but it would actually fix a lot of the frustrations of ranked--less people playing who don't care about ranked, and if someone does AFK after a certain amount of time, or disconnect, a new player could enter mid match So in the lobby, you might get an option to enter an in progress ranked match with an incentive of bonus LP for a win and reduction of LP loss for a loss. You would start at level 1 but you would be able to see score, and pick whatever champion you want. You will be playing from behind, but you have the ability to counter pick into the match

I like it but can foresee a lot of players ragequitting after the first game

If a player rage quits after the first match, they take a loss, possibly ban and they are replaces by a new player and the game goes on to round 2. I thought I explained this. Read the post before you respond.

If a player ragequit mid way during round two, that doesn't bring a new player in and it becomes a second lost. Also a passive aggressive player can choose to troll for the first game, play seriously for the second and troll again for the third without any risk of banning.

If a player rage quits in round 2, well, you are fucked I guess. Still a better system than the one we have now. Also, even trolls have their limits. Play an entire game WELL just to play shit the next one? All to upset people. Please thats a lot of effort and their mood will change after winning a match most likely.

I'm not setting aside 2 hours of my day's schedule for a single ranked match.

Troxic1 votes

Why not? People set aside many hours in a row for this game. Why not do so in a way where you are less likely to lose back to back matches due to circumstances totally out of your control?

I generally play around 2 games a night after work, I don't have time for more than that most evenings and often I can't guarantee that I can play those games uninterrupted without a break between them. This would cut down on the days of the week I can participate in ranked from 7 to 2.

When I play games in a long session I generally need to take short breaks between each one for my mental state, especially if a game went long. Matches that go a minimum of 1 hour of uninterrupted league and up to 2 hours or more sounds like a complete nightmare.

Not to mention that your claims that this would somehow create better matches and more accurately determine player skill are completely unfounded. The massive reduction in the number of ranked matches played would certainly do more harm to the ladder than any potential benefit.

Bot lane went 0-19 why would I need a round2

Did you not read the fucking post dude? AFTER LOSING THE FIRST ROUND, the team can vote to ban one champion, so needing 4 votes. You could ban that ADC and have him replaced with a different player, giving you a chance to win, instead of just taking a loss because of one shitty teammate.

Seriously, read the god damn posts before you respond.

so the voted out player just gets a defaulted loss? No thanks I don't feel like being a victim to 40% win rate duos voting myself or other relevant players out of a match because they are butthurt.

Yeah well, don't play awful. Its probably going to be a loss for that person if its a terrible player anyways, and it gives the rest of the team a chance to still win and not be sunk by one stupid player.
