This is the worst patch in league since beta.

I have played league from season 1. The only worse patch than the one today is when riot made leblanc lvl 1 q explosion dmg 30000 during season 1 which got fixed within a few hours.

Just through this patch, Riot made 3 champions unplayable, while leaving one third of champions unbalanced.

Vladimir. My main champion for 6 seasons. I have no idea why riot didn't delete him from the game instead. He was sustain, AOE mage that doesn't have any CC (not counting w) or utility skills (meaning dash, mobility skill). People played him for his safety in lane, ease to control, and potential to do a lot of AOE damage during the team fight. Now he is good for nothing. He has negative sustain, AOE gets blocked, not safe anymore in the lane for necessity to land powered Q, absurd to play with weird third skill mechanics and AOE charge.

Swain. He was sustain, single targeted DOT dmg mage that lacks lane clear and range. He was played for strong single targeted damage and tankiness from ult sustained healing. Now his combo is no longer targeted, but weird zone controling which can be avoided so easily. Also his ult is virtually impossible to land without cc for channeling time to activate ult.

Cassiopeia. She was sustain, high dps single target mage who lacks range and mana. She could have burn down one faster than any other mage in the game. Now she just can't. Until 35 minute into game. And only when you manage to land every skills while staying close to enemy as squishy.

I miss those days when I could play league casually, no pressure to play in such complicated playstyles every league champions now have. I could have easily figure out how to play a champion and make sense of skills without reading paragraphs of skill description. I could have understood how enemy champion can outsmart me, not like 5000 ms quinn rushing across map with nocturne ult effect every 8 seconds, not having to counter AOE invulnerability with stacking hp, shield, and AOE stun, not afraid of snare that one champion can generate as combo for 6 seconds along with 100-0 burst damage, not having to worry about free banshee+alistar ult every 20 seconds with silence and % hp damage, and tons of swarming minions, and suppress, not having to deal with ranged toggle of % life steal that can give % hp shield for free with % hp damage and ult, along with a dash with conditional stun, movement speed boost that can stop dash and provide armor, and ult that will knock you out of the fight for sure.

Didn't have to feel confused how I died and how they killed me.

More I feel playing league is as stressing as studying tons of texts and mechanics to practice, More this game become difficult to comprehend and biased More I miss those days in season 1 I just enjoyed playing this game because the game itself was fun and do whatever I want, not pressured to play with friends, constantly practice new champions that are in "meta", only to see it outclassed through nerfs and crazy remakes, and have to study the game to understand it.

Now that my favorite champions get trashed and most of my friends already left the league, I now have to study new meta and spend time to practice new champions while struggling in dynamics Q, or just admit that this game doesn't want me anymore.

Most of this post read like: "This is what they used to be like. They are different now. I don't like that."

If you want a simple champ we still have malphite. He's literally a rock.

This game will never be casual in summoner's rift. Unless all champions gets changed at once, there will be a meta. The only reason the first season felt more free is because nobody knew what was optimal. After people start becoming pro, the meta forms and it becomes clear what works well and what is fringe. Suddenly if you don't study, you fall behind people who HAVE studied. There is no escaping this, unless maybe you spam aram where the teams are random and then meta matters less.

Also this is subjective, but I like the new vlad a lot more. I loved old vlad, and I'm not used to the new one yet but he has so much more interaction and opportunity now. Laning used to be: Oh boi I hope I don't die early on so I become broken. Now I have some clear windows to out trade the opponent. They purposely gave his E the same cool down at max rank as his Q so you could make the choice between spamming damage and maintaning sustain. His build paths have choice, rather than default starting WOTA+Lucidity Boots every single game no matter what. I know he's different now and he doesn't exactly function like he used to , but that was the point of the update. His old function was largely toxic, and boring for the opponent. Now it matters when you fight, where you stand, what you build, etc.

You should play katarina or akali. Or even yi. Pretty simple to play. Diana works too. Q then r then w then one shot.

I was optimistic coming into this patch and I played 3 or 4 games today and was done for the day. None of them were fun to play at all.

They did buff Teemo. That just adds insult to injury.

I can understand your frustration, but maybe Vladimir is not as weak as he seems now. You are a long time player, and I hope you will become happier with the update when riot tries to balance everything better. But it is a patch that can be compared to preseason, of course everything is messed up.

I agree that Swain and Cassio are weak atm, but riot already noticed this. If you are interested, read this (and the red comments):

This is the first source of information and probably they will release a hotfix for the mentioned champs on monday. I hope I helped you!

I mean, i've always played since season 1. Have multiple accounts in various elo's, and I disagree. Now, it's just my opinion, but seeing and playing all the mages, vladimir, and cass by no means are weak, at all. I don't think anything negative happened to vlad in the slightest, especially. Overall, I think they added something great into the game. They added difficult choices, and some very challenging scenarios to the game. Before, dragon was important, but honestly, not THAT important. Herald was meh. Now, you see a red dragon, or a second red dragon for that matter, and you literally CANNOT give that up. It pressures into some crazy choices where the game gets pretty intense. Herald is a bit dumb, but overall, it's not a huge change. The buff isn't that great. As for the timers, it hardly affects me. Good junglers know the times from wards anyway. The mage update is a bit crazy, but nothing is broken to me, with the exception of Malz passive, and that Vel true damage. Those are just too highly tuned. By far, once again in my opinion, this is not a bad patch. Just another stride in a nice direction to keep things intersting for new and old players. Adding more competitive nature to the game.

Huh. I thought for sure you were going to be a Master Yi main complaining about Bloodrazor.

Carry on.

vlad is insanely busted and will be 9000x weaker by the time he is "balanced"

You add Viktor.

i really enjoy some of the rework potential, vlad seems a little weaker then most in the pack, but there is alot of variety to be found with the reworks
