Only is good against assassins while at the same time being viable. - She's also good against assassins but she's not viable in competitive like Lulu. - pulling out gold card takes a good few seconds giving time for assassins to wait it out. You can't viably start gold card and if the assassin executes their toation of spells fast enough then there's no point. - You're way too reliant on your ultimate. But our voidlingns and passive does help a lot though. - She can be good against assassins but if her passive isn't up or used on minion waves then she's completely screwed.

"Beating assassins" doesn't only mean being able to fight them. TF doesn't beat assassins because of his gold card; he beats them because of the combination of lane safety, lane priority, and roaming power that cannot be matched.

Assassins are supposed to excel at short fights, 1v1 fights (with certain targets), and jungle fights. You don't pick champions to counter their strengths; you pick champions to exploit their weaknesses.

Thinking about how to flank, doing it properly and perfectly executing any assassin combo, even the easiest of them, takes a high amount of skill and awareness. I don't get why when an assassin pulls off a good combo it's "faceroll" but if a mage does it, it's "excellent play" or whatever the boards bullshit view is.

The easiest of assassins is hard. Don't delude yourself into thinking otherwise because they can pick off your precious AD/APC.

Jax has one of the highest win rates right now. He simply doesn't have enough counterplay in his kit. As long as the Jax player times the stun correctly there's nothing you can do about it. Aside from that I think he's just too strong overall right now.

Issue with most of these champions it that they can't stop the assassins from killing off the carries. And so an assassin will ignore them and leave them to the rest of his team to deal with while said assassin kills squishies.

Picking them mid is then problematic as you have weaker siege against objectives, less peel (less CC), little to no magic damage (making it easier to itemize against that team) and in the mid game, assassins deal enough dmg to blast through your shields and defensive steroid as long as the assassin hasn't fallen behind.

they aren't generalist picks that's for sure but when against an assassin beating them in lane can be a solid way to set them behind and they tend to also cause a lack of cc and objective control, meaning that the weaknesses of these champs are less prominent. When you pick a champ like kled against an assassin your goal is to steam roll the lane before they get to roam and impact the map its a specific strategy, but one that is very viable against assassins.

I go Taric mid against assassins. None of them can 1v1 Taric and he has amazing defensive tools to help his team survive later on.

Have you played the champion known as Sion in the midlane? Used to be a bigger thing earlier in the season before his E was nerfed a bit, it still chunks anyone squishy (ie Assassins), the secret behind the damage is the Absolute Focus rune, he's so tanky you can stay above the health threshold for extra AP without much difficulty, plus it scales for respectable wave clear and damage (and don't forget, that bot lane might not be intimidated by a Twisted Fate ult, but when dat Sion is speeding down the river for a tasty gank they better be scared).

He relies on landing his Q in lane. With an assassin's mobility, it can be difficult.

I name those champions specificly because those are played in the mid lane. Champs like Galio and Vladimir aren't assassin shitters. But more of a champion that can't be shit on by assassins.

The only bruisers viable mid are Aatrox and Irelia . But Aatrox ain't good against assassins. Only irelia is.

Her peel is simply way too strong and is the reason why Janna why she's cancer to play against. Buffing her AA will encourage more aggressive laning styles.

Agreed. We need way more midlane champions who are not pure fighters or other assassins who can actually put a fight. Really getting tired to immediatly loose lane as soon as the enemy midlaner locks in an assassin whenever I pick a mage

Please god no. A single champion being able to invalidate an entire class of champs just because they pressed a button of 2 is unhealthy and toxic as fuck for the game. Any good support can invalidate an assassin. For example, Janna doesn't have an ability that makes them stop in their tracks and not be able to do their main function. However, a good Janna can still invalidate an assassin. Leona is considered a diver/tank but can still invalidate an assassin. We don't need more champs that make assassin pickers lives hell. There are already plenty of champs that fill that niche.

I'm talking mid laners who can do fair against assassins. Assassins can easily kill people in 2 seconds and it just isn't fair.
