Jayce has a very cowardly playstyle.
Jayce is that rich kid who thinks he is gangsta because he dresses and tries to talk like one.
We all know what Jayce really is. A wannabe melee champion who paid rito off to give him melee champion stats and abilities even though he spends most of his time in ranged mode.

When I see Jayce picked I think one of two think : "I sure hope mid/jungle/bot knows how to deep ward so I can impact with those TP plays" or "I guess I'll play Touhou on easy mode while farming"
Legit Jayce is just annoying, he's almost on the same level as Teemo for me, just an annoyance, not really a danger.
And I'm not saying "I'm so cool Jayce is my bitch xdddd", Jayce is a lane bully, it's annoying and if you mess up you can get yourself killed pretty easily but don't stress about it, take it easy and wait for your time to shine, either in Teamfight/skirmish or the right time to show him you shouldn't get to close, science boy.
Jayce is a billion times better than Camille.
I am fine with a Jayce, as you can dodge his Q's and fight him when he is in melee form
However, I am not fine with a LETHALITY Jayce, who can press W in ranged form and chunk you for 1/3 of your hp each time you try to farm
