the guys at riot have to make more and more money every year. Welcome to capitalism.
But they aren't making more money, from what I've seen. Somewhere on Reddit, there's a post of them being about thirty percent down from last year.
China does it to physical products. Since that's who they're marketed towards anyway, might as well copy market practices.
Honestly, i see nothing wrong with that. It's even in the name, you pay the money for prestige, not quality, and it's purely cosmetic so i really see no issue. it just means that those that have the money can spent more of it, if you don't feel like the skin is wirth the money/effort, then just don't get it.
The first one takes a lot of work and the second doesn't, so they are complementary and don't compete against each other.
If anything, that Prestige skin can help hire someone else that could work on new skins.
You should be happy from Riot finding new ways to pay the employees who make it possible that League is not just a game to play, but a universe that constantly releases gorgeous art, growing lore, stories, epic ceremonies, and top quality music & videos from many genres, all of it free.

Except your meme is literally wrong because Pajama Guardian skins weren't sold at a higher price. And they were literally 1350 skins worth of content. If you already bought the first skin, then you effectively already bought the particles, which leaves Pajama Guardian skins being new models and textures which are 750 skins. And the discount you get from already owning the original SG skins makes the Pajama skins cost 750.
It literally could not be more fair. You get a new splashart and everything a 1350 skin would give.
