He has very effective level 2-3 ganks (2 if you take taunt second)
Hes an extremely strong tank that's effective throughout the entire game
good clear time/ sustain your rarely below 1/2 health while farming
and you dont get punished for ulting... you dont have a turret to lose or a lane to be out cs'ed
seriously though he has good clear sustain tremendous global pressure (more so than he does in top lane imo) and great ganks

His only real claim to fame is his global presence via ultra-long CD ult which is greatly diminished now that matches end so quickly.

Jolly Rogered1 votesTop lane Shen is stronger than jungle Shen based off of the amount of xp and itemization. But Jungle Shen's ults are far superior, do to being able to ult with out the possibility of your lane opponent canceling your ult.
If I'm forced to jungle and I'm not feeling it, I'll jungle Shen. He has good jungle escapes too, just E through a wall.

ltmetal1 votesGives blues to mid all day without a care. Outrageous synergy with Cinderhulk and Challenging Smite. Turns enemy tower dives on their heads. Dashes through most walls in the jungle, but few walls in the lanes. The only reasons I can think why Shen isn't played in the jungle more often are the same reasons Cho'Gath isn't played in the jungle often. Their core items are somewhat expensive for the tank class, and the jungle gives less gold than the lanes. Added to the fact that they have safe, but still relatively slow, clears, this seems to make them rare sights.
