Technical Feedback for Azir's runaway Brats

Again? Another one about those two?? Jep, but this will likely be the first technical one you have seen and not like the rest fangirling all over... Im not here, at 5:00am, to talk about their themathics, but about technical/gameplay problems.

Lets start with Xayah: Simply put she has to many feathers. And the Arc/Delay of the secondary shots are to big/to long/ to much visable.

The problems in detail:

#To many much feathers!

Our brains can only track so many things at once, also depending on the speed of the objects. The average person can track 4-5ish objects, gamers can track more, 6-8ish (Faker above 9000). Things like a casting animation/-sound/ visual effects are all pretty fast thus tracking a bunch is extremely tricky. Things like a caitlin trap or a "zone" from an ability are relativly easy to keep track off. They mostly dont move and have a big radius. So you note it once and thats enough.

Kat's daggers are already tricky. They repeatately get picked up and replaced, but there arent that many daggers on the field at the same time. Xayah's feathers on the other hand are numerous, quick, not that easily predicatable (the landing location changes very fast) and have big visuals on top (flys and dmgs throu people) and are pretty small. Avoiding 1 Area (Kat dagger) is ok, but checking strip areas and counting feathers(3+) to identify dangerzones takes alot of effort.

This is simply to much! Way to much! You are overflooding everyone with the amount of feathers! Atleast the impact of 1 feather is not as high as a Kat dagger thats the only positiv thing.

#Particles! EVERYWHERE!

Ok, it is nice that you guys have new technology and playthings, but the visuals of her W are to much. Simply, the arc is to big, it is to delayed and its to "big". A good example is Lulu's Pixi particles, they are small(like the impact), fast and straight forward. Them flying all over the place forces our attention to them! As if they were tiny skillshots! That is not good and adds even more to the overflooding... 1 Champ with 1-2 abilitys already "uses" the complete "tracking space" that we have....

Ideas/Solutions/TL;DR:

Since she was just realised I will not feature gameplay altering changes/Ideas and focus more on the visuals.

  • Tone down the visuals of her feathers a bit, possibly smaller and the mixed colors is nice but could be toned down a little to (If something has only 1 color its better to identify same for the "range/hitbox", more colors make this harder. But that doesnt mean that they should only be in 1 color...)

  • Her W particles need to be smaller, the arc closer to the attack line, and the delay could be reduced a bit. ( The Arc could be something like a wave or, my personal favorite, we could make it look like "razorblade" from pokemon! First the secondary feather(bolt) flys a bit up and then flys with extreme speed(in a small arc) into the target).

Overall there is to much stuff going on, to many particles, to many "entitys" to keep track of. Look at some gameplay footage and you will see what I mean.

Lastly 2 quick things, since its now 6 am...

  • Rakan has to much mobility. WAY. TO. MUCH! Nowadays every new champ needs to have ether high mobility or untargetable/invul, but come on..... 1 free medium dash/knockup, 2 allied targeted medium dashes, ms ult+ extra ms.... JUST TO MUCH! (Cho dont worry I will never forget you!)

  • The bonus they get when they are together seems a bit too much. We have the "easteregg" conections like leona does -1dmg vs skins with sunglasses etc. but the doubled jump range and the extra AS and Dmg is a bit too much. 50% extra jump range and some dmg/AS would be better in my eyes.

I dont not care about the thematics that much, the "cool" babyboy charmer and the rebelious teenage girl are certainally not on my "wish to have" list, but like I said I dont care about themes.... but I do care if my screen gets overflooded with vfx!
