Easiest champion for new player?

My friend is new to league and keeps asking me what are good champions, I don’t really know what to say.

What are the easiest champions you recommend for mid, which is the only lane he plays.

I started him with Ahri who is very simple and forgiving, any other champions he would like? He also is bad at managing mana and uses it up quickly.

Malzahar Malzahar is pretty fun and easy. once you get to level 4 its really easy to cs, don't even have to think about it anymore. And tell him to ward every time it comes up. Doesn't matter where he puts it ( as long as its not in rage of towers where you already have vision or enemies can see it), just to get him in the habit of using it before too long and checking the mini map. item 3649

Garen

Edit: Oh, for mid. Not sure then. Just don't let him play Ryze even though he's the cheapest mage to buy.

annie and veig are the most basic mages but if they want something more challenging try xerath or velkoz

If you want champs that are relatively easy to learn and perform decently in low elos, it's pretty hard to screw up with 450 BE champs. Here's my case in point:

Top: Garen Simple melee champ that allows you to focus on fundamentals like farming and trading.

Jungle: Amumu He adds a ton of utility because of his cc. He's versatile because he works well with tanky and AP builds.

Mid: Annie Like others have said, she's about as basic as mages get. Her Q refunds its mana costs if it kills the target. That should help with cs and manna management.

ADC: Ashe Her ult provides some of the best cc in the game and her E gives you vision.

Support: Brand All you need to do is land all your spells before you die in teamfights.

Annie to learn the game. Or just give him a list of viable mid laners and let him choose himself. This game is severly unforgiving to new players so it doesn't matter what he plays, it matters most he is having fun on what he is playing.

there aren't too many noob friendly champs in mid lane though one of them aka malzahar is S tier after the liandrys buff in last patch.(hes known as the most braindead champ in the game, but hes a bit expensive).

annie is another noob friendly champ but she gets outranged/bullied by other mages during laning phase, u can however last hit everything with ease under your tower thnxs to 2 damage spells.

annie is a more of a high burst champ that can blow all her cds to 100-0 an enemy in 1-2secs while malzahar deals sustianed dmg and can lockdown an enemy for 2.5secs which is big.(hes also a great split pusher).

He is probably going to be getting wrecked in mid.

Talk him into going top and picking Garen.

If he insists on staying mid Annie is pretty basic in the laning phase and she can farm with Q and not run into mana issues.

Just tell him champions you find fun

Don't play with him until he's level 30 tho. If you do, it'll break smurf protection and he'll never get placed against other new players

Veigar requires at least a decent level of mana management to be ok in lane.
