Make Smite the Jungle Item Active it should be!

Why is smite a summoner spell? Why should junglers be slightly less capable of dueling than any other champ? It is an unfair advantage and there are a multitude of reasons why they should change it to the jungle item active. Every day junglers forget to put smite and lose the entire game before it even starts. By making it an item active it would be much easier for every jungler to have smite. If it was an item active then when a good teammate buys the trackers knife for wards, they can still have two actives to use for fights. It is too strong of a disadvantage currently for any damage dealing jungle champion to buy the trackers knife and making smite an item active would allow more people to use it. Overall I think this could help out junglers to make them more on par with laners.

The only problem with that is that Trackers Knive wouldn't have Smite, because the active is Ward. Would be a severe disadvantage on objectives and no one would use trackers.

However Trackers knive would be better anyway if it were a special effect, rather than just Ward, two options I have:

  1. Trackers Knive passively allows you to track the foodsteps of enemy champions.

  2. Haunting Smite: using Smite summons a Sentinel that provides vision in that place.

That is a choice you are making you are choosing vision over dueling potential so you can see a gank incoming and avoid it or set up a pick. The vision from trackers is very VERY strong and can set up great picks and avoid bad team fights by spotting people flanking. Toss in a sweeper with your tracking and you can clear wards, see invis enemy, and get vision / deep wards down constantly.

Lol um no actually if you use the active on a monster it would smite it, otherwise it would ward. Not that complicated really.

If they made it an item active then they will have to nerf or change the jungle items to ensure that the laners are not picking it up too. I'm sure many would prefer a chilling and bonus health granting cinderhulk over sunfire for example. Riot doesn't want everyone to have smite.

Worried about team members not having smite? Pay attention during champ select and remind the jungler if you see they don't have smite. Most appreciate it and gladly switch their summs.

I'd think the summoner spell choice would be a bigger problem. As annoying as Cinderhulk top lane was, it could only be abused by a handful of champions who could live without flash. Put smite on an item, and anyone could abuse it.

But on the opposite token. If it allowed Junglers to take a second spell, we would likely see weird gank patters which would be made possible if the Jungler had TP. It would also favor Devouring Junglers, as it will allow them to split push.

Lastly, the very fact that anyone could pick it up, at any time, means that they could at the last minute, increase their threat to Neutral objectives. (Imagine 5 smites in a late game baron fight.) That would be a scenerio that Riot would want to avoid.

You sound like a spoiled brat who is complaining on Facebook he got the wrong colored iPhone for christmas and here's why:

Basis of Jungling The primary reason for jungling is resource allocation. The jungle offers a lot of gold and experience that can be accessed through slaying the monsters that spawn and respawn in predetermined locations on the map. With a lone player dedicating themself to accruing it, it leaves two solo lanes available to both gain high experience and gold rather than only one solo lane. In effect, all accessible resources are being utilized by a team with a Jungler.

The whole point of having a jungler is giving your team an advantage in resources, and here you are demanding not having to trade trading power for having such a big advantage. Riot even gave junglers tailor-made extremely gold efficient items to boost their gold income and encourage players from leaving the camps to the jungler. And here you still are demanding an even bigger advantage.

Because they are a constantly roaming gank threat.
