Pushing Yorick Back Again? For Ryze?!

Champion Update Schedule

Okay, I understand Yorick is a thematically difficult champion with no player base... I understand coming up with a "balanced" kit is difficult... But he's been on the table for YEARS and he's getting pushed back for Ryze's yearly rework (I think this is number 6 for him? Correct me if I'm wrong...)

So, that being said, I know Ryze is in a spot where he needs another rework. I get it. But he's had so much attention because he's popular that the less popular champions get completely ignored. (which is the REASON THEY'RE LESS POPULAR) You guys don't seem to understand that the reason these champions aren't popular is because they aren't playable, and if they are, they aren't fun to play as. Ryze is still playable and fun to play as and has some counterplay. Yorick isn't playable, and isn't fun to play as or against. Karma is another example of this, just less extreme. Playable, can be fun to play as, but VERY one dimensional with TOO MUCH counterplay.

Riot, why are you reworking Ryze for the 6th time (once again, correct me if I'm wrong) since his release but are pushing back and not even mentioning other champions that need it so much more than him? (Yorick, Warwick, Karma, Aatrox, Karthus, Nunu, etc.) Why don't you realize that the reason these champions are underplayed and not popular is because they aren't fun to play as and/or aren't strong enough to compete with anyone, even most off-meta picks?

EDIT: Because I misworded (and misunderstood) stuff, my main issue isn't that Yorick is being pushed back. It's that there are SO MANY other champions that need reworks MUCH MUCH more than Ryze, especially considering Ryze is onto rework NUMBER 6. It's ridiculous and shows favoritism.

No champion is being pushed back for another. They have separate teams working on each one. The thing is is that Yorick, being a minion-mancer, requires much more work to be finished, whereas Ryze doesn't require near that scale. The schedule isn't the order of how they are doing them, but rather as estimation on the order they will be finished.

...They're are not pushing Yorick back for Ryze. Ryze is being worked on by a different team from the Yorick rework, which is being worked on co-currently. So please, calm down. Ryze's rework will have no bearing on Yorick's rework release time.

They said literally months ago that ryze was closer to being done and that he'd be rleeased first. They didn't push Yorick back either.

Seriously, we don't need more of these uninformed threads.

Yorick isn't being pushed back because of Ryze. He's being pushed back because there are two teams working separately on these champions and the team doing work on Yorick needs more time due to the size and scope of Yorick's rework.

For Ryze, they already have a lot to work with. They know what's making him overpowered and know what abilities need to change to give him a fix. In addition, they do not need to do a complete visual update/overhaul for Ryze because they've already done that. It's just about abilities and balance for Ryze, so his update can be done faster than Yorick's.

For Yorick, a separate team is tasked with rebuilding him from the ground up. A total visual overhaul combined with completely new abilities (akin to the size of the Sion/Poppy/Taric updates, not the Mordekaiser/Sona/Soraka/Mage updates). Yorick also has (and may still have) abilities that heavily interact with minions/other unit entities (such as ghouls) that may need a lot of coding work. Same goes for old ultimate. Depending on what his new abilities are, they may need to do even more work on that front.

So please, be patient. Taric didn't take any longer because of other work, it's just a matter of the team working on him needing to make sure everything is up to snuff and that he's ready to go live. The process is not a simple job to make things like this happen.

Once again a person flies off the handle and never actually reads. 2 teams are working at the same time. One of Ryze and one on Yorick. The Ryze rework is much smaller so that team will finish and have it release before the Yorick team finishes his rework.
