My first experience with the new champ select

I just got done playing a game in the new champ select and it was fantastic. I got to play the role I wanted, everyone had a positive attitude and the game was great. I used to play team builder all the time (check my match history if you don't believe me) but honestly, I don't really care that much that it's gone.

I think it's pretty great and that it's a drastic improvement. I'm looking forward to playing more matches with the new champ select and I think I'm going to enjoy this game a lot more and I'm curious as to how everyone else's first games went. [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

besides waiting 40 mins to try to play a game and not being successful, logging off in frustration because this lock it in shit needs to be fixed. Literally had 13 unintentional dodges in a row, 2 of which were me because after so long it got to the point where i was making the mistake as well. anywhere from 3-6 mins into sitting in a champ select that is never going to finish because 4th pick only hovers and doesnt lock in or the last pick forgets that he HAS TO BAN SOMETHING. Either Riot needs to remove this lock-it-in requirement or they need to completely 100% remove the dodged queue timer, it has no purpose now since it would actually improve the amount of time we have to wait to play a game. Riot is a terrible excuse for a game company, not sure how they haven't looked at a good company like blizzard and tried to fashion their actions and persona after that instead of continuing to disappoint.

Much better and with team builder being gone, the queue times are much better as well. :)

0/10 enemy team first picked Jax and wrecked us

for real tho i love it. even if it didnt work i'd play it constantly just cuz its so damn pretty looking, but on top of being extremely pretty it actually seems to work well.

My team who were trolls in a 3 man group; banned my hover pick. We then proceeded to rely on my inability to carry or even really add much in the way of anything with my fallback champ. Good fun. :) New troll method due to banning happening after ur intentions are made known.

People like me likely now to do fake hovers to survive the champion ban trolls now.

Edit: Also wanted to comment on another thing.

Were choosing a lane. As if we all specialize in a lane or even two. Myself and another person or more that I know specialize in a few champs to cover 4 roles.

Lets say my main top plays well into certain champs and my main mid plays well into certain champs. I could with prior champ select method determine which of the two I wanted to play based on enemy champions picked. Or if there were a bunch of general counters to one of ur mains you could go with your other for the other role.

You are not a person with 3-4 champs pool into 4 roles now. ur a person potentially with 1 champ 1 role, and if ur countered ur countered. Unless someone and yourself intentionally do role/lane swaps to get around that. like u and a duo partner could arrange to choose mid and top for ur primaries. and flip flop them if either of ur champs are countered. u just pick a top for mid and he picks a mid for top and u go to each others lane at beginning. to get around the locked role preventing fills or flexing.
