AP burst mid champion that is good for ranked?

So I'm collecting my 16 champions to start playing ranked i main and play ap burst champs that go mid (katarina,leblanc,ahri etc) but my friend told me they got alot of counters and if i play them in ranked i will not do good and they will pick counters so the question is: is there any champion that doesnt have many counters that is ap burst and goes mid? i think diana and fizz are one of them but im not really sure, but thanks in advanced

PS: sorry for the wrong category i didnt mean to put it in gameplay but in the champions one but i forgot to

Annie would be a good choice. She is almost always strong mid lane, and bot lane as a support.

LB would be another good choice, she is super safe.

Annie, and Veigar they all have counters but its another burst ap to add to your group

I would suggest adding Kayle, and Kassidin to your group for good counters to other AP casters.

Katarina is very bad right now. Ahri and LeBlanc can get you to challenger. I'd recommend you to add Annie to your champion pool for easy elo. Not saying she's op, but she has a very easy job, is easy to play/understand, and is very effective. You can easily carry 1 or 2 feeders with a well played Annie.
