Is item 3156 still worth buying after the nerfs to its magic resist stat and unique passive?

It's antiburst item for fighters. It's not good enough on glasscannon ADCs.

I think the problem is that people don't realize that adcs are fighters. a hyper carry glass cannon + 1 devoted protector = best of both worlds dmg and protection = the definition of fighter. on top of that they typically run heal making them even stronger. where as fighters tend to run Teleport.

fighters would rather pick item 3053

id say item 3156 is better on assassins with bonus ad scaling.

the item was pretty strong

now, the item is 93% gold efficient. the shield grants 300 (+ 100% bonus magic resistance) magic damage for 5 seconds. call it like 400 size shield. that's about 800 gold worth since hp is worth 400 gold for 150. this isn't as handy as hp though.

then you also have 10% spell vamp = 275 Gold 10% life steal = 375 Gold

so on average you get about 1200 gold from passive imo.

one item that did get overnerf imo was item 3748 it lost 700 gold. maw just lost like 400 gold worth of stats.

granted its a weird item because its kind of situational lifeline could potential yield great returns or really lousy ones. So what if you get a big magic shield if volibear is about to bit you. or lee sin Q's you.

i absolutely love MoM on mid lane assassians like Katarina or Talon bc it adds to the power spike but helps with bursty mages like Ahri and such
