I played Shen from this week rotation and I liked his playstyle, I noticed that most players choose to go tank (top) with full armor/mr build.
My question is what can you suggest other than tank? I know his abilities can provide defensive or supportive stance to the teamfights, can I go full support (with supp items) or AD (dmg and crit) with him?

are fairly standard damage items, especially Titanic, but I see potential for 
as well.
PD might be decent too, but as his Q onhit can't crit it's a bit wasted.

with more tanky items.
This is the splitpush build. Some tanky items lets him survive someone trying to stop him.
Between teleport and ult, you have plenty of ways to get into a fight.

is this good in teamfights? especially with heavy AA champs who rely on atk speed (ADC/Master Yi/yasuo...etc)?

is far better, no wasted mana.
If you taunt them they'll hit you and be slowed too.

WhiperSnapers2 votesold shen could go support secondary. New shen has "supportive abilities" but they are too unreliable. His W in theory works very well defensively in the bot lane, but in practice it just doesnt work. First you have to have an adc that understands how the ability works, then you have to be coordinated well enough with them to get the timing right. It will work very well if your enemy doesnt understand the ability, but since they likely do, chances of them trying to duel your adc while they're standing on it are slim to none. Even if you are somehow lucky enough to get both of these, it is still an ability that requires some set up which means its useless if the fight ends up being more of a chase/escape.
