Let's talk about Zed

bistroh··2 votes·668 views

We all know Zed, the shadow ninja banned almost all the time. This is really just to talk about things with him. He has a 48%ish win rate currently with around a 15% playrate and still a 46%ish banrate. I realize these stats don't really mean everything. As a Zed main, I think he should be nerfed or given mana which would make him balanced. But why ban him just for lane dominance? There are lots of champs that always dominate in lane by they aren't really ever banned. He is also difficult and lots of people that play him really suck at him. Basically just talk about Zed here because I think everything going on with him is pretty interesting.

You realize giving him mana would make him stronger right

19 games? I have easily over 50 with him. He took me from level 20-30 and I still play him.

People still ban him simple because he's still an awesome champ. His laning has taken a small hit but it's his ability to change the course of team fights if executed right. I've seen more game changers because of Zed than any other champ simply because of his ult downing the ADC sniping everyone in the back with his ult, shadow flashing away from danger, regrouping with his team, and getting about 1- the rest of the enemy team. It's not laning that I'm afraid of it's his team fighting hit and run tactics that get's me and my team murdered. Though this is the same for other champs I just feel Zed can move around more freely than others. He doesn't need an ally unit to flash to safety, his ult nearly always drops pursuers if they're missing about 65% to 75%(50 depending on Zed's build and if the enemy is a squishy or not) of their health and gives him time to get his shadow flash to cd. Personally I don't play Zed but I love fighting against him. I don't think he's that op as everyone says he is, but he does have a presence of fear when you have to face him. There are ways to counter him whether it's getting the right champ, good ganks, or just simply counter building him. Instead of asking for his stats to get lowered so you can trade with him more easily spend your time trying to beat him. Try different champs, tactics, or builds. No champ is so powerful s/he doesn't have a weakness. You just need to find it rather than just trying to out power him.

Even as the creator of this I am confused.

Sometimes I like to dress up like zed and throw shruikens at orphans.

Well then.

I KNOW that the QSS change will be bringing nerfs to him sooner or later, but I dont think thats a bad thing. You right that most of the zed QQ comes from people simply not liking to play against him, which is pretty much the same for yasuo. I have played both zed and yasuo quite alot, but honestly zed IS difficult to play regardless of what people who have never played him have to say. Not to mention with QSS on an adc, then 1 possibly 2 zhonyas if the enemy team has an AP mid and jg. that leaves the support and top lane without hard item counters to zed. I mean his winrate should say enough about how "OP" he is. QSS no longer removing debuffs will most certainly make his late game much more relevant. So I can image he will recieve more early game nerfs to help quell the QQ threads because people dont know what to pick against him and how to play against him.

A champion is considered op when he has about 55% win rate

bistroh1 votes

Zed has like a 48-50% winrate

bistroh1 votes

His winrate really isn't super high anymore since lots of people playing him don't know how to play him. However, why get a magic resist item like QSS even with its passive against Zed when you could get Zhonyas which works just as well+armor.

FACE THE WlND2 votes

Because I'm an adc.

I think Zed has been nerfed more than enough in the past few months... If hes nerfed again he will be close to unplayable imo

bistroh1 votes

It would weaken his lane phase since he is limited more by mana.

Jayblaze2 votes

A ninja with mana wouldnt fit the ninja theme at all. The other ninjas are akali. kennen, shen to name a few, and they all work with energy. So Zed will never have mana. His laning phase has been weaken recently with the cd increase on his W as well as his late game with the nerf of his W passive. Enough is enough

bistroh1 votes

If his lane is still weaker why is he banned so often?

bistroh1 votes

I realize his laning is still strong but why still ban if he has been nerfed and takes lots of skill.

Jayblaze3 votes

Only because he's frustrating to play against due to his outplay potential. If he gets nerfed again he will do peanut damage unless he is really really fed. Which would be close to impossible with additional nerfs.

Peanut damage if behind BS damage if ahead

Sounds like feast or famine to me, which is what defines assassins.

Jayblaze1 votes

Exactly

Not all zeds can outplay

I have said it in many posts but his early laning took a big hit with CD nerf to his W. Its just funny how all the complaining comes from mid laners and adc's. the people zed is meant to kill. But hes right people complain mainly due to the way he plays in lane. Pokes you down then goes for the kill. Hes pretty much unplayable in high elo mainly due to QSS. I have no issue with zhonyas but QSS just never made sense to me for cleansing debuffs. I always thought of it as an item I would buy as an adc to counter mages with hard cc, like cleansing out of a tibbers stun. But hey thats just me
