Is Yasuo a good mid laner?

I never see many Yasuo, maybe because of his notorious high skill cap.

I want to start playing him and I just wanted some opinions on him. His winrate is 46% which is below the "standard."

Does he get outplayed high elos?

For yasuo it really depends on the matchup. There are certain champions that just shut him down. Given equal skill levels, I think he is a decent midlaner but outshined by other picks like zed. If you are very good with him he has a lot of outplay ability though.

I would say he's a mid laner with a lot of potential bogged down by many, many, many nerfs. Master Yasuo and you have access to the most well rounded melee carry in the game imo.

It's just really sad how many people there are who have a knee-jerk reaction upon just hearing the name "Yasuo" in a discussion. Hell, I bet someone's going to make a joke about his skillcap just because you mentioned it.

Yasuo is an extreme hard counter against pretty much any projectile-based champion. So... its really dependent on the match-up.

He is a great champion once you get used to a few key parts of his kit. Including proper W usage for the most part. Main thing about him is he has a good amount of good matchups, but the ones where he doesn't win or go even in its a nightmare for Yasuo.

A few examples of nightmare matchups are Malzahar Heimerdinger both of which completely destroy Yasuo to the point of him not being able to do anything all game. Azir might also be a matchup that makes Yasuo cry, I just need to test if Yasuo's wall blocks Azir's Q.

I played him for 2 days straight and here is what I've found out:

Most champs are a pretty 50/50 match up. Some on the other hand does have the advantage at certain stages of the game, such as Teemo. (only hard counter i've played against, but maybe that's because im in a low elo.)

I found myself taking way more damage then I can dish out in a trade. He poisons and blinds me if I were to engage my harassment. Overall an annoying champ to play against.

Other then that, I've found no other big issues. If you play smart there is a lot of outplay potential imo.
