Need Help against Sylas

Hey, everyone.

Just some context: I’ve just gotten back from a pretty long hiatus off of League (Smash Ultimate, Undertale, other important life stuff) on the heels of the Kayle Rework. I know I’m rusty. I know that I have to get back to the mechanical skill I had before. That being said...

Sylas is busted.

I do not understand how to fight against a high-base health AP bruiser with a dash, a knock-up, a shield, a heal proportionate to his missing health and respectable base damage values. Please help.

Grievous wounds are pretty essential, by either ignite or an item. That just guts his heal and duelling potential, it makes him really squishy. Also most mages are busted when fed, so if you played against a fed Sylas and his damage seemed busted, that doesn't make the champ busted, if that makes sense

you have a couple of options. 1 is choosing the right champion to face him with. 2 is to build effectively. 3 is to dodge.

Best way to deal with sylas right now is to ban him cause in game you just cant deal with him. His kit is one of if not the most overloaded kit league has ever seen. And with all the mobility and survivability and being able to pick from 5 ults (which is really fucking helpful cause you can use whatever ult is best for the situation you arent just stuck with one) You really cant counter pick him right now.

So the best way to deal with him atm is to make it so you dont have to deal with im. At least until people figure out how to deal with him or riot nerfs him.

Tbh just ban him. Dude is god tier atm and grevious wounds isn’t enough to stop his stupid amount of healing.

I will admit, laning against sylas does suck. He spams Q and his passive to perma shove the lane but he has many weaknesses. A good start is the fact he is melee and so he gets poked very easily. His burst comes from weaving auto attacks into his spells early in the game but if you position correctly he cant really get onto you without using flash e. He also cant use his heal on non champs and his mana costs are very high once he starts spamming spells.

A good tip is to also play champs against him that have weaker ults or ults that he cant abuse. Champs like ryze, jayce or kass...etc. And most of the time, the ults he gets dont synergize well with his kit as much as they synerygize with the champion that owns that ultimate.

Also a good point to mention is how long his spell rotations are fairly long early in the game.

The last tip is grouping is an amazing counter to him. He suffers from the same problem of any back line diver/disruptor/ap bruiser similar to Diana where unless he is super fed and has a fair amount of AP he can be bursted very easily.
