I was plat 3 last season. Peaked plat 2 100 lp. My MMR was aproximately in the plat 2/3 range.
I just did my first placement games and got silver 1. I lost to having a 0/20 bot lane, you know, typical platinum stuff. All the players in my games are platinum. They've been platinum for many seasons. So why am I given silver 1 as a provisional rank?

Not glitched...working the same as it has for years now. You don't get your actual rank until you've played all 10 games.

besides face rank is quite literally meaningless. as long as you have the mmr of a plat 2, youre gonna be gaining boosted lp until youre at least plat 4
