Soo, instead of REMOVING his ability to point and click someone, they gave it a longer cooldown. i swear its prob longer than karthus ult at this point.

The problem isn't the damage it's the disgusting amount of CC (2.5 seconds) that it has. How in the world were point-and-click silences on assassins toxic but a point-and-click that disables EVERYTHING YOU DO and you can't even cleanse it not toxic? Even if they nerfed the damage it would still be toxic to play against because the jungler will just come and deal damage while you're incapable of doing anything.

Then he has a dot that auto-spreads and minions that auto-attack. No input is needed from him. His abilities just create proxies which play the game for him. The only ability he has that requires ANY amount of brain activity is his silence, and that has such a low cooldown that you can miss most of them and still have a big mipact. The new passive is an even bigger laugh. They were supposedly going to make him less toxic to play against but then they added a SPELL IMMUNITY SHIELD that requires damage to knock off. Your allies can't even interrupt it instantly anymore. Given human reaction time, the time that it takes to get rid of the spellshield and then finally the time that the skillshot stun takes to travel, you might as well not even bother with it.

That's why I ban malzahar every game I go mid. It's not that he's really strong or impossible to beat, but it's so insanely frustrating to play against when you're forced to blow 1300g just to have counterplay or you completely forfeit the lane. Sure, there are far stronger solo queue mids like Brand or Xerath but at least you can outplay their abilities. You can dodge their stuns. Malz just flashes and rolls his face while hovering his cursor over you and the jungler does the rest.

Given the choice between laning against him or closing the game I would always take the latter unless I'm playing a roaming champ.

I don't think the comparison to point and click silence makes sense. True Malz's ultimate is a suppression so only QSS gets out of it. However, it's also a 2.5s self stun basically, since he has to channel it.

Mind you I don't play Malz's.
