I mean assasins are in very horrible state right now
sure you can play 
be so fed and still lose and become useless late game
Sure you would have tons of dammage but the oppurtunity to deal that dammage is close to nothing unless the ennemy is really dumb
also you are nothing if your tank is bad
also if you are caught you would die in less than 1 sec especially if the ennemy team have a

Assassins aren't exactly meant to carry. They are just meant to eliminate targets. They can't take objectives that well.

They are much better at picking people off during skirmishs or during rotations. They have never excelled at teamfighting.
Hyperiön2 votesThats how its always been. Its why you don't see a lot of assassins now. And if you do, a lot of them are going some sort of tank, or GA. Except LB and Talon, they are meant to pretty much die when they go in if they mess up.
Catastrop1 votesThat's how they're supposed to be, get ahead early game and snowball enough to end the game early, otherwise your impact goes down significantly as the game goes on and people start tanking up. There are few exceptions though.

wrecks everything if you let the game goes on for too long, his mobility and damage just skyrockets that much.

I play one of the greatest assassin's in the game and I take objectives quickly, dive and eliminate back line quickly (often making it out alive, but not always), and generally end up carrying my team after two or sometimes three items even if I'm behind. Which is quite often.
