So, I've been thinking about starting ranked but I'm a bit confused about it. How do you get placed in silver, bronze, etc? Some people who just played ranked their first time got silver and I'm VERY confused. I thought everyone had to start at bronze 5?? Please explain this to me and thanks in advanced.
Weathered3 voteswhen you start ranked, you play 10 placement games. Depending on how well you do and how many you win, you can be placed anywhere from bronze 5 too gold 5.
From what I remember, I won 7/10 games (and also played well during them) and started off in silver 2.

dominusx2 votesyou play 10 games after you play 10 games u end up in a division based on your wins. Then after that you win a few games and when you start to get hyped that you are winning riot matches you with a bunch of trolls and you go right back where you started. this is ranked. My suggestion dont bother playing ranked

MagicFlyingLlama1 votes10 placement games have a small effect on your initial placement, but your invisible "Rank" that you already have (determining who you are matched with) has a much bigger effect.
I would suggest holding off on ranked until you are fairly good at the game and can reliably play at least two positions with >60% winrates. You will also need idiot-tolerance, since low ranked is infested with raging children.
