Champ that utilizes Duskblade of Draktharr best?

Kind of a niche item, it's weird if you're healthy in gold as an assassin which is the class it's intended for you don't really need any more damage to finish off a target, but at over 3.2k it's not exactly cheap either. I haven't been playin League much but I still keep up with the updates and shit, so far I've just tried it on Lee Sin and Zed.

Zed- Like I said above deathmark would of already finished the target off, it was basically overkill. Nearing the end of the game I was actually making a conscious decision that if duskblade was off CD and i was about to assassinate a target I'd just activate youmuu's and not use my ult if I didn't have to, cuz I had too much damage. And this wasn't a game where I was completely stomping either, I couldn't tell you my KDA but it was just an average game I wasn't super ahead.

Lee-I main Lee so I he was the first one I tried out the new item on. I almost feel like it was more satisfying using it on Lee than Zed. Typical build that I use on Lee consists of Warriors, Merc treads, Maw, then a variation of defense items. Nice thing about using the item on Lee rather than Zed was I could put it to full use every time it was off CD. A squishy? Yeah I built some damage but if they were smart they weren't complete glass cannons and had some defensive stats and the extra damage was definitely beneficial.

Beefier targets/tanks (not recommended to waste dusklbade proc on) was not at satisfying as using it on a squishy, but I still felt like it was helpful. W/ Lee, especially building him like I do with 2 damage items and the rest usually tank, sometimes on a 6th item I'll go a bonus armor pen if they have multiple tanks, you'd think that it wouldn't be a significant chunk of damage but even on the tanks it is.

Sorry I'm ramblin it's early I've been up all night, TLDR;

Why the fk do I feel Duskblade is more beneficial when you're playing a champ that isn't building straight damage? Sweet item I dig it, only played a few games with it on Lee and Zed so definitely gotta play around with it some more

Post your guys experiences usin Duskblade with different champs and what you thought about it

Its an item for burst type adc champs .... someone who can do massive damage within 2 seconds .. and maybe get the reset because of the kill ...

ADCs by definition have lower burst potential and higher sustained damage per second. Their strength comes from having a larger damage output than any other champion class if left unchecked, which differs from assassins that seek to create advantages by rapidly creating a numbers advantage through removal of a single enemy. When played properly, Duskblade is far less effective on ADC's than on true assassins such as Rengar, Kha'Zix, Zed, and Talon.

Even on assassins it's rather situational, though; as a general rule crit champs don't like it nearly as much as pure damage champs. Because of that, most ADCs and crit assassins like Shaco and Master Yi don't really want it because too much of its damage is tied to a timed CD rather than having the open-ended damage for sustained trading that comes from IE, BT, and ER.

tl;dr: If you're building this on ADCs, chances are you're playing the role very sub-optimally. Either that or you're positioning as ADC in ways that would be easily punished in higher elos. Or both.

Nocturne and Talon both had really nice upswings with the item, but Zed certainly utilized it most effectively. I think it feels more effective on non-damage champions because it gives them a large damage burst where they wouldn't traditionally have one, but it's overall less effective on those champions because you're spending gold for an output that you generally weren't intended to provide.

Picking up Duskblade on Garen (random example) may give you a nice execute combo, but it takes 3k gold away from your tank stats--which means you fail to effectively function as a front-line threat for your team. If your intent was to burst the backline, you should have just picked an assassin that can do it much more effectively. The problem is that doing your job as a non-damage dealer has more transparent output than raw damage dealing does because it isn't an actual measured output, so it's easier to look at a health bar and say "I did x damage" than it is to say "I prevented my squishy from taking x damage".

I think this is the reason why it feels more impactful on non-glasscannon champs even though it's a far inferior choice in terms of optimal builds. It's all about identifying your impact and playing to champion strengths.

I like it on AD bruiser champions who just needed that litttttle bit extra to finish someone off. Champions like JarvanIVMonkeyKing who if fed are going to blow you up, but if they're just normally farmed item 3147 is the perfect finisher to their combo. The 5% movespeed is also nice, it helps you get in range to initiate. It pairs really well with item 3142.

I believe it would be good on pantPantheon but haven't tried yet, basically you can poke with Q and when you decide you want to go in your aa will have that extra kick
