Make balance a greater priority

Too many must bans but not enough ban slots

So today I was playing against a Kogmaw, yeah and I noticed there are way too many broken champs that you cannot ban them all. You end up with a few every game and if you don't pick one of them you are at a great disadvantage.

IMO balance is the most important thing in the game, so I would like to ask if Riot could make this a greater priority even if it means less updates in other areas.

Wait is this thread about Kog'Maw being op?

What.

Priority is MONEY and COMPETITIVE PLAY sadly. Having fun with the game is one of the last thing Riot wants to ensure

Zed Balance is for the weak.

Bro, they push out patches every two fucking weeks, how is balance not top priority? You act as though Riot has answers for everything. Fixing problems takes time.

Balance??? What is a balance??? I have never heard of this word before

you missed the logic of "balance" if you think the strong champions are the problem. Having more bans only puts a quick fix on that problem because if you ban the strongest champions in the game every game then the next strongest will be the strongest then. In other words the weak champions in league are why the game isn't balenced.

The issue about balancing a game is there will always be group of people complaining about the changes. Balancing a game is the hardest thing to do.

Now someone is going to tell me " No its not, they just need to do this and that", but all your discussion are based off your own motive. Just because you want this champ to be nerfed doesn't mean its going to be healthy for the game.

IF RIOT listen to every little detail on the forums and tried to make everyone happy, this game would have shut down at the end of season 1.

People need to realize that changes are going happen, you may not like it or believe it was fair, but that life.

I will say, and this isn't to bash on the balance team or anything, but I feel like there should be a large distinction made between balancing champions around the concept of having a champion perform well in 1-2 roles, while still offering decent amounts of counterplay that is made relatively obvious when they die (For example, after dying to a Xerath, I can tell myself, "Well, I got hit by that skillshot, that one, that one, that one, and that one"), compared to what it feels like now, which is balancing champions around eachother in the sense that X champion overperforms in one role, but it's ok, because there's another champion that overperforms in a different role.

Make discussion a greater priority

All you did was make a thinly veiled accusation that game balance was left in the gutter for no reason. It's not even true, there was never ever a point in the game where a handful of OP picks didn't exist.

It's just a typical riot "balance patch". A champion is falling a little bit behind in the win %, so we're going to frontload their kit so hard that not even what was supposed to counter them will counter them anymore. (When a fed Zed with aitem 3147 dives a kinda fed KogMaw and dies, there's a huge problem with the state of the game).

Bans aren't for "broken" or "op" champs. They are for planning team comps and banning out champs that threaten specific team comps.

IMO balance is the most important thing in the game, so I would like to ask if Riot could make this a greater priority even if it means less updates in other areas.

Too many cooks spoils the broth. Riot has as many people working on balance as possible, diverting more resources would only hurt Riot and the balance as a whole.

Not to mention, and I'm partly quoting a red on this, "Just because a champion feels weak doesn't mean they are." To put that in perspective, just because you think a champ is too strong, doesn't mean they are.

Most of the champions that are considered "op" right now can actually be countered fairly easily, but people simply don't build against them or work to beat them. Most of the times they are champions that only become a huge problem if left unchecked (like kog maw)

Kog maw has a notoriously weak early game. Crush him then. Also, as soon as you see the other team picked kog maw, react by making sure your team has some lockdown potential - Someone like nautilus, or leona, or malphite, or any cc machine. etc. Someone that can shut him the fuck down, he is SO reliant on his team protecting him from cc, so get something he can't be protected from.

Master yi's another one I've seen people complaining about recently. He's another perfect example - people think he's op because they let him farm all game and are surprised that, when he gets sated, he slices and dices. COUNTER jungle him, he is very weak early and extremely susceptible to being buttfucked while clearing his camps. Take advantage of that, and making sure your team has some hard cc is good too. He slices and dices if left unchecked, but if he gets stunned he will fucking melt quicker than ice cream in an oven.

they need to release new champions (for $$) and splash art though... real important stuff

riot plans to solve this imba shenanigans when they introduce 30 ban slots per team
