@Riot, can i get some context on one of Blitzcrank's abilities?

I'm trying to understand why a support, like blitz, has an ult passive that throws of the csing of his adc. I mean, sure you have someone like zyra, who's plants might try to steal cs sometime, but its not random so you know which mean to target and when to auto attack. I am just curious.

Might be for wave clearing mid/late game when nobody is around. Beats using your ult just to cover half the minions HP (Assuming you're going tanky/utility Blitz).

it doesnt do enough damage to really waveclear, just enough to last hit targets, and i dont understand why im being downvoted lol

Blitzcrank isnt purely a support. this passive was designed with that in mind. it helps him CS when he isnt supporting and it just looks damn awesome!

what else does he play?

Top if they have a squishy top. My favorite is Hybrid Blitz mid, and blitz jungle is always really fun!

Well, Blitz is one of the original champions from the game's release, I do believe. Back then, champions were not made for a specific meta. Blitz was likely originally made to be capable at solo laning, but as the meta found its place in the game (1 Top, 1 Mid, 2 Bot, 1 Jungle), it turned out Blitz had a lot of Supportive capabilities, so he gradually moved into the Support position, where he's pretty much only ever seen now.

Because he has a pretty straightforward kit (land grab for a kill) that both teams can play around, he's not really seen any major changes.

As for why he has the AoE damage on his ult? I guess with the lack of major changes to his kit, he has it because of the original intent of him being a fighter/tank in a solo lane. He's in a decent spot as far as having a kit that works together, just that it doesn't exactly fit the role he's come to be known for.

i dont mind the silence, it's the little bolts he procs that makes no sense to me. I mean i have heard that Blitz was originally designed to be able to solo, but for the past 3 to 4 seasons, he has only been in the botlane, therefore he should be balanced around that. I just dont think that ability should be in any solo laners kit. If they want to change to only target minions/monsters/or champions that you are attacking then that's fine, or to only target champions, that's also fine. It just really f's up csing.

Yeah, I knew what you meant about the bolts, I wasn't clear on that, though (technically AoE damage :P [...actually, maybe not technically, though it does only work within a certain area]).

I'd say it was to help him have some waveclear. It does make CSing annoying in bot lane, though at least Relic Shield's passive can help with that to some degree.

Honestly, though, Blitzcrank makes bot lane more of a kill lane than a traditional Support + Marksman farm lane. If he's doing his job and making those kills happen, the Marksman is not gonna need to be quite as concerned about missing a few CS.

My own opinion on the bolts effect, though? It should be removed in favor of giving him a more reliable source of damage/waveclear.

Blitzcrank wasn't intended to be a support. He was meant to be a top laner, I believe.
