Yup melee adc got even better with the doran's shield buff. You can run any champ with strong sustainable damage to replace an adc. You can run kill lanes and put your sustainable damage in a different role. You can run a waveclear tank bot like chogath with a roaming smite support jungle nunu for incredible objective control. There's so much more too...
If one must support Yasuo, I prefer Nami or Janna for the easy knockups, plus the heal/shields. It is not an easy lane and requires both to play optimally to do well.

bot? They would be normally a ridiculous harass combo but i played 
support and had a 
adc ally and we melted them with me even getting a few kills a few times along with well timed 'geometry' Q shots and juking Yasuo to throw out the wind wall by instead using 
+E and then Q soon as he tries to E away, he was pretty much dead by then including when i could throw in the R into the combo.
The only reason can get away with the trolling in that spot is thanks to his retarded Wind wall which once again needs a nerf, in so many ways to make it 'fair'.
