There are a lot of people complaining about how strong mobility is,,,

But why aren't we seeing a flood of Poppy Cassiopeia ?

Or even Soraka Fiddlesticks

Lulu seems to be the only "stop yer dashing!" champion that sees a lot of play in tournaments but even there I don't see them using her to stop aforementioned dashing.

It's not that mobility is too strong, is that it's not being properly weighted in the kit budgeting. When you don't properly weight your kit budget you get power creep, mobility creep is just the largest discrepancy people are noticing.

Abstractly speaking if you consider a champion's mobility to be worth X% of their kit budget, but in practice it provides (X+Y)% of the champions power in practice, then you end up with a champion who actually went over budget by Y%. When you move on to the next rework, balancing, or new champion, you are going to be basing their relative budget off of the effective power of the other previous cases of champions, who also went over budget, so you just create a constantly inflating design budget around this undervalued mobility.

In fact, i think it's fair to say that one of the least often nerfed aspects of champion's kits tends to be their mobility. They will have their numbers changed, abilities reworked, and mechanics removed, but very rarely do you actually see like "X has had it's dash range reduced by 50 range". So in effect riot has been making mobility a higher portion of the champion's effective power (by focusing nerfs on other aspects of their kits), but never seemed to actually fix their undervaluing it in terms of kit budgeting, which would imply an increase in the inflation rate of the design budget. Don't get me wrong, they also tend to focus buffs on non-mobility aspects too, but nerfs are still less common than buffs, and their reluctance to adjust mobility as a form of balance is very concerning in itself.

"It's not that mobility is too strong, is that it's not being properly weighted in the kit budgeting." ** 1000% this. The value of mobility needs to increase, so that kits have to pay more for it.**

Cassiopeia's W is way too unreliable. You have to predict an engage/a flash to make use of it defensively.

And it doesn't stop mobility per say, it is a silence to mobility spells.

Because their "Anti Mobility Tools" are a joke.

Because picking Cass only to stop mobility is a recipe for disaster. She takes a lot of practice. Using that mobility in the other hand does not.

Poppy got nerfed, not much else to say.

Soraka doesn't stop mobility any less than Thresh does.

Fiddlesticks has issues applying early pressure and his team gets steamrolled by junglers like Lee Sin, Elise, etc, then the game is decided.

There you go.

Fine, lets move on and see where we can get by checking statistics.

Riven 51,5% win rate, ok it is pretty hard champion and has really high win and pick rate, but ok, maybe she is a Little to strong or just good in current meta, lets check more.

Yasuo nearly 52% win rate with decent pick rate? Well, also pretty big win rate not to mention pick and ban rate but fine.

Fiora 51,2% win rate and even better pick rate than Riven, damn, I see a pattern here but at least kindred has low win ra... Oh, wait, 52,6% win rate. Yeah, I guess bad Luck.

I don't even want to talk about ahri because this champion is just a joke.

I don't know if you consider irelia mobile champ so I will leave her.

Ok Im done with sarcasm. Maybe not all champions that have good mobility are op but most of them are for sure over average plus you have to know that countering mobility is not the only factor that makes people pick a champion, it's important also for a champion to be flashy, has interesting kit, good feeling and what is most important being good not only against mobile champions.
