Out of Combat indicator

I've been playing a lot of Kha'Zix lately (yes, I know, filthy assassin player), and I've been getting annoyed lately because I don't know exactly when I'm going to be considered out of combat. This is important because I need to know when I'm going to start getting stealthed by bushes. Granted this becomes a non-issue when I have mobies to be this indicator, but until that point (which is a while given that I'm balls out rushing duskblade), I don't know.

Riot, can you add something either universally or to Kha'Zix specifically, given that other champs have their own timers (Rengar passive ticking down for his ferocity stacks). Please?

It's more than just Kha'Zix that needs this though, there are a number of things in League how a days that requires "out of combat" so having an indicator really helps.

It does seem like the kind of thing that could be as simple as a little red bar on the top of the screen. It could flash full red as you enter combat, and decrease over the span of however long it takes to not be dealing or taking damage to be "out" of combat, and flash blue and disappear when out of combat. I feel like that wouldn't be hard to do; clearly the game is already tracking it somehow, just give us that information. As an Aatrox player it is quite annoying to not know exactly how long I can be not attacking waves without losing my Blood Well.

I agree with this. There's an increasing amount of effects that rely on the player knowing whether they are in combat or out of combat, to the point where I think we need a) some kind of indicator to show the change in states, and b) a clear, standardized definition for what it means to be in or out of combat, and how long those states last. RiotRepertoir mentioned in some recent comments that such a universal definition might be tricky, but I personally feel that comes from preexisting variance in combat-related timers, which have been used in the past as balance levers. Champions like Katarina and Jinx in particular have had their own takedown-related timers adjusted to either buff or nerf them, and establishing combat timers as this unchanging, standardized feature would prevent them from having that part of them tuned in the future. However, even if it might force certain effects to be balanced around stricter rules, I think it might still be better in the end for everyone to operate on the same, universal definition of being in or out of combat, with clear indicators for both. As a side benefit, this could also clarify kill streaks, so that players could have a better idea of why their penta just became unofficial.

If you have mobies you can actually see the timer for out of combat, but yeah if you don't have mobies you can't see it.

never really thought about this but ive been playing kayn lately and it would be so good to know. whats worse is a lot of times it doesnt say anything specific about it. "when you remain out of combat for a few seconds or for a short time". what is considered a short time? they really do need to create some sort of indicator bar for this. the real question is, with a handful of champs that can actually benefit from it, why didnt they think of that when they first developed the ability in the first place..
